Try putting a few big chunks of cold watermelon in the blender with a little coconut water. Puree it and pour in a glass with a salted rim. Damn good cool down drink, no booze needed.

Leave out the salt and you've got a winner! Salted watermelon........ Might as well pour some hot, brown gravy on watermelon.

Why would you want to screw up a delicious slice of cold watermelon with SALT?

My dad always salted his watermelon. I tried it again just recently, with a rather poor melon. It did help.
We grow excellent melons here, Rocky Fords. They're so sweet you don't need to put anything on it. |

Huh, I'd be happy with a Sonic lime slush with just a shot of Tequila.

I'd rather soak some watermelon in premium vodka. Ice cold and a nice buzz.

OP, you got it right!
The last watermelon I had I finished in three days. I would wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and then wander into the kitchen and grab one of the watermelon containers out of the fridge and just stand there half asleep and stuff my mouth with cold salted goodness. |

|
OP ain't wrong.
Though I'll argue that any watermelon that needs salt, was shit to start with. 2 Cups of fresh Blue crop or Patriot Blueberrys, 2 cups of Ice, 3 Shots of Rum, 1/4 cup of sugar.....toss it in the blender and hit Puree for 30 seconds. Shave off half a lemon zest, pour into a glass, and top with a Basil crown. Just so ya have something healthy, to wash down the Watermelon on a HOT, Beyond Houston humid, summer afternoon. |

While cold salted watermelon is great, Cook Out's watermelon shake isn't half bad either. I was a bit confused when the lady handed me a spoon the first time I ordered one, but then I found out Cook Out puts actual chunks of watermelon in the shake before blending.
