The two counties I hunt in are the top 2 number of deer harvested. Let’s just say that it’s pretty high pressure on public land. My gun season spot up north isn’t as busy. Next year I’m gonna take a weekend during bow up there. Less pressure, better time for me. |

Wasn't as high as the angle of the pic makes it look. Definitely higher than planned but it worked-right lung was in 3 pieces. Neither one of us are complaining, happy kid for sure. Third deer in 4 years. Only saw one last year and she waited for a good shot that never came. I told her I was happier about her waiting than I'd have been if she'd have gotten that one. |

AKSnowRider glad you scored! I have to hunt in Area 13 and only saw one caribou almost a mile away - too far to determine sex (I'm in a bulls only area) so no luck there. Apparently only caribou were killed far back from Eurika summit - I saw no racks going by before we left. AKFnG said heavy snowfall killed lots of caribou this past winter. I saw a bull moose within shooting distance but it was only about a 24incher. Better luck next year maybe??? |

Finished packing everything in the freezer today. Deboned and trimmed everything except the front quarters (I like to cook them whole). Haven't decided what to do with the grind pile/hinds yet. I like plain antelope meat but I'm thinking on doing a big batch of breakfast sausage. |

Inlaws gave me covid. Fuckers knew they were still sick and came anyways. So my elk hunt isnt happening. Im too sick to hike at 11000' with a 60lb pack for 5 days at 20-40F. Fucking thousands of dollars and months of prep down the damn drain
Its not like i was looking forward to it for a year or so. But at least my obese inlaws can eat all my ribeyes, steaks and fuck up my couch woth their enormous asses. And hey, since im not hunting. I get to telework while baking and filling the trough for these lazy landwhales |
