[ARCHIVED THREAD] - How often do you weed n feed?

The previous owner of my house did not take care of the lawn at all and I'm trying to recover it. I'm also not used to Northern Virginia.

How often do you all weed n feed? I've read everything from no more than twice a year to every 6 weeks during the growing season.

What say you all?

3 times a year do it while the grass is growing not during dormant times.

Never. I fertilized only.
I find that keep my grass healthy, and mowing regularly suffocates the weeds.

Do your entire lawn once. You should only have to spot spray weed and feed for individual weeds after that. Use liquid not granular.

I see weed and feed as two separate things. Feed 3-4 time per year.

Weed and feed once a year. My weeds are in check. So, two more with just fertilizer.

Weed typically 3x early in the year if it’s fescue, aerate overseed in sept, fert in Nov and Dec

Weed and feed once a year.

Pre-emergent twice a year.

Spot treatment on weeds as needed.

Research Tenacity. If your lawn can handle it, you won't have to worry about the Weed part.
