This was my first ride with a Hero5 on a chest rig. I think I need to go to a wider view and angle it up a bit.  What worked fine in the driveway didn’t work as well on the trail.   2003 Cannondale F600. Got it as never ridden and stored in a closet all these years. Rides great.

Like you said, angle up and go wider. Make the chest strap as tight as comfortably possible. The downside of the 5 is no stabilization.

Below is shot with s Hero 7 at 1080p 24fps superwide on a stuntman chest mount.

How much editing/color correction do you do or do you just straight upload?

The 5 has image stabilization but my chest strap was not super tight.

The trail you were on is butter smooth compared to what I ride.

I go with the auto settings. I had a Hero 6 prior to the 7 and the stabilization is night and day difference.

Here's something rougher. The 7 and above really do smooth out the video a lot.

ETA; it also helps in riding a 150mm full suspension trail bike.

Whole lotta coasting. I have to pedal all the time in my AO. Short ups and downs with twisted roots.

Of course it is a vintage hardtail with 80mm if travel up front. My fork takes out the sting and keeps the front planted. It is GREAT at going where you point it. The headshoks always were good for that.
