The question is not whether you should but whether you can. I've seen lots of mangled deer suffer and about the worst is when they have their lower jaw shot away so they starve.

Probably not a shot I would take. Easy to fuck up and I wouldn't feel good about that.

Certainly not with a .22 because of the trajectory. .308 that is tighter than moa a head or neck shot at 87 yds could work so long as you are capable.

After reading the weird deer thread I determined arfcom is full of internet snipers that have the group size of a whole deer moa. So 87 yard head shot should be good enough to blow off the tail and drop it in its tracks.

It's the twisting that makes the bullet tumble faster, and the faster it tumbles, the more it rises above the ground. Too much twist and the bullets don't fall for a long time, like minutes. That's why they call it MOA, or minutes of angels. |
