I grew up in NE LA. We had the Bienville parish wood monster.   AR has the Fouke monster.  Maybe the edge of gator country.

Supposedly skunk apes here too, I guess if you believe in cryptids.

ETA- SC does have a legit monkey island though- Morgan Island.  It's a colony of rhesus monkeys used for research purposes including by that sick bastard fauchi's former employer.

I’ve seen a skunk ape back in the swamps once when I was a kid. I shot it with a .22 and it yelled, “Ow, Fuck!”, and ran off. Haven’t seen one since then.

We have some escaped primates roaming around here in South Florida, plus homeless wild men that don't bathe for years, so I could see how people get them confused.

Yup.

Had a kid I knew that was night fishing on one of the canals down in the Everglades. He smelled something incredibly horrible and then saw the outline of a man as it jumped across the canal, over his head as he was standing in the Jon boat. He estimated in jumped maybe a 30 foot span and he's 6'4".

Because they are trans dimensional nephilim that hang out in the woods and you can only really experience it if you pay a Bigfoot expedition $500. Then you'll be able to hear wood knocks.

Nephilim love knocking on wood.

I've always wondered, do Bigfeet/Yetis/Samsquatches have cartilage for bones that just decomposes like flesh?  There has to be a logical reason we've never found any skeletal remains.   Maybe all Bigfeet know when their time is up and seek active volcanos to dive in to?  I guess the science just isn't settled on Bigfeet(?)
