I'll preface with the fact that I own 6 Harleys.  I'm not a HD hater but I'm definitely not a motorco fan either.

I stopped in the dealership to grab some parts for a customers bike and that led to me sitting on the 2024 Lowrider ST, I knew they were supposed to be bad ass but I had never sat on one.  HOLY SHIT, it was like Cinderella sliding on her slipper. I've never had a bike fit me as well as this one did. I walked into the sales managers office and laid it out simple.

" I'm going to buy that ST sitting over their except in red, I have a 2016 Indian springfield that I want $7500 in trade"

"well I'll have to see what we can do on it.... but I'm probably closer to $7k"

"I want $7500 and I'll write you a check for the rest"

"Are you serious or bullshitting me?"

"Dead serious"

"I'll have to see if I can source a red one"

"you're sister dealership has a red one in stock"

"I'll send a driver right now to get it"

One of the easiest deals I've ever done. This thing shits and gets between the 117 engine, inverted forks, and brembo brakes It's the best STOCK bike I've ever rode. Wanna go 120mph? Don't even gotta try! It'll do it and ask for more.
I'll leave it mostly stock for the riding season then make some real power this winter.
I'm pretty stoked to get this thing in the mountains next month, I know it's gonna be a blast.

Great choice.  I picked one up about a month ago.  Black\Black.

Small enough to be nimble, big enough to carry a few things for a weekend trip.

Big enough fairing to make riding more pleasurable, small enough that it doesn't feel like you're piloting the space shuttle.

I made a deal with myself that I'll keep it stock for 1 year.

I did buy some S&S slip ons because they won't void the warranty but come winter it'll get a S&S 475 cam with 2in1 exhaust, intake, and tune.  I've seen this set up consistently dyno 130-135 hp

Congrats on the new bike.

Personally, I always wanted American Iron, but Harley's styling just doesn't do it for me.
It's like they're 20 years behind on the design/styling.

I almost picked the lowrider ST, but I can't do mid controls (too tall), and the cost to switch it all over to forwards just changed my mind.  It is a great riding bike.

First, congrats.  And I never trust a first gen/year model. There's always issues that need to be addressed after they sell some and find real world problems.

I'm aware. In my shop I prefer to install S&S parts simply because they work and their quality is top notch.  I'm also not a fan of mix and matching parts and S&S has an entire eco system of engine parts.

It’s a good looking bike and it certainly addresses some of my Harley complaints. I’ve thought about adding bags to my Fatbob because I find myself wanting to run errands on it more and more.

I definitely need to upgrade the 103 for some power as it’s pretty lame as is. I don’t know anything about Harley stuff. If I had the money I’d just buy an S&S crate and be done with it but that’s a bit more than I can handle currently. I’d love a no budget hotrod Harley. It cracks me up that you can basically spend as much as you have on Harley stuff.

Do you have to buy parts to improve a $24k Harley, or it's just something you want to do?

That motorcycle looks cool, but I would be pissed if I had to sink even more $$ in, when I could have just bought a BMW

Of course you don’t have to buy parts. It’s a bad ass bike as is.

But people spend many thousands upgrading their BMWs as well.

It’s really good for its size. I did add a taller windshield though. The stock height looks better but I need the ride to be right before I care about looks.

This bike is a riders bike. It has cruise control and traction control. But they are simple and sleek in operation. Other than that it is stripped down. I will add heated grips to mine, however. I will also ditch the crazy air filter it has for something a little lower profile.

The 117 is a great motor putting the useable power right where you most need it.

Now let’s talk about my BMW GSA, which I am on today…

12 buttons on the handlebar and one of them is a magic wheel thingy that brings up more information than I could ever use. It is also a fantastic machine and can do a lot. But for pure road fun it is hands down the Lowrider ST.

ETA: The Harley genuinely makes me want to just hit the road and ride through small towns, stop at little diners, ride Rt.66. Of course all my bikes do that...they just want me to take different routes.
