Also the anniversary of my father death and he always flew the flag on Flag Day and was the one who taught me about it. I did not fly today because it was raining and I do not have a covering to protect the flag while it is flying. It gets all twisted up and gnarly when it is wet and just looks awful. Not a fitting tribute.
Lately I have been flying the 13-star Betsy Ross flag because it pisses people on the left off  |

My wife's DAR group had a nice little ceremony for it this morning in a local park. The local BSA troop presented the colors and it was attended by the local VFW, police, fire, city officials, citizens, and patriotic songs were sang. A good day in all.

But again, that may be too complex of topics for some. Look at the US flag code as well and you will see it is given almost diety like status, but that will for sure be too much to get into tonight. |

Interior Secretary Deb Haaland celebrated Flag Day on Monday by hoisting the “Progress Pride” flag above the Interior building in Washington, DC. “Today we celebrate love,” Haaland wrote on social media with a picture of the flag. “For the first time ever, the Progress Pride Flag is raised over Interior. Happy Pride!” The Progress Pride flag is a revised version of the gay pride rainbow flag, including black and brown stripes to represent gay, lesbian, transgender, and intersex people of color, as well as the colors of the pink and baby blue transgender flag. Haaland went to the roof of the building herself to hoist the flag above the headquarters of the Interior. Happy Fag Day! |
