What gutter guards do you guys have the best experience with?

The back of my house the gutters are over 20' high and I am just tired of getting the ladder out 2 times a year to clean them out.

I have seen the foam kind collect to much debris in it but I dont have any experience with any other.

Leaffilter is what I had installed. Expensive, but no more cleaning again EVER. Also I now don't have gutters overflowing and I noticed my sump pit never fills up even after many heavy rains. They are the only one Consumer Reports recommended.

Costco has some that get extremely good reviews. I'm debating it.

I'd hire out the gutter cleaning every year before putting gutter guards on my house again.
If you live somewhere it snows, the snow builds up on them and forms a big ice dam, preventing roof snowmelt from getting to the gutter.
Yanked mine off last year and i'm still dealing with problems from them.

The stainless steel mesh ones are awesome. I installed them around the house and have been impressed.

Thanks for the info
I had not thought about the snow and I get a decent amount each winter

I also think you should just hire it out.  I did gutter work a couple decades ago.  None of the gutter guards back then were that great.  Gutter cleaning is fairly cheap.  A lot of companies will just put you on their list for a cleaning or two a year.

"it depends"

read this for *why* it depends:

https://www.ar15.com/forums/general/Which_gutter_solution_/139-1337710/#i34463872

this is a good topic. let me preface this post with the fact that i am an OCD-burdened engineer.
for that matter, when i built my workshop i installed 3 different types of covers to see which was best.

in addition, the house we bought had the aluminum screen type covers on the gutters, via the prior owner.

i have learned that the performance of the "gutter solution" is not only dependent on the product itself, but three other factors:
(1) how steeply the roof is pitched,
(2) the size/type/biodegradability of the debris getting into your gutters,
(3) whether your gutters/downspouts are installed correctly in the first place.

so...
