They had anything and everything, Including home made guns. We stopped at an Italian base and checked out their bar. The walls were covered in confiscated guns. There was a .50 home made pistol.
I have some crappy double exposed photos of this bar. |

I remember hearing quite a lot of stuff was bought over the counter in Austria, as at that time it didn’t have strong laws against purchase of sporting weapons.
Not sure how true, but interesting. |

The Greek War Museum in Athens has a massive trove of small arms from various conflicts.

Quoted: Is it commonplace for sporting/hunting rifles to be equipped with iron sights over there? I don't think anyone in my family owns a scoped hunting rifle with irons. View Quote Very common, especially older Bolt actions have Irons here. But i think It Is the same in the US! Anyway many bolt guns are still produced with Irons for our market because sometimes Hunters take off the scope and use the rifle for boar collective hunting |

When we confiscated guns, we ruined them by crushing them in our M88 tracks. We then stored them until EOD took care of them.

Interesting seeing the Stgw57. Apparently, K31s somehow made it to the conflict also. There's pics of one in a Balkans museum somewhere.
