Great message on the relentless fight against sin.

Guerilla Warfare | Sermon on Indwelling Sin from James 1:14-15

Five stages in the life of sin
1. Sin begins with evil desire
This desire pulls at your soul.  It entices you.

2. Evil desire conceives
Sin gains the consent of the will.  Something settles in the mind, "Yes, this is what I'm going to do."  And when that happens...

3. Sin is born
Sin has its own life.  No sin is an end in itself.

4. Sin grows
If sin is not cut back, it will keep growing, until, in the end...

5. Sin produces death

There's a famous line in the story of Samson.  He was seduced by Delilah, who was trying to deceive him.  Then, when he was asleep, she shouted to Samson, "the Philistines are upon you" (Judges 16:12).  The problem for us is that our enemy, sin, is not only upon us, it is also within us.

The flesh is a landing place for sin. Temptation in the Bible

I do not believe sin is an enemy. It is a choice no more so than doing that which is good.

God gave us the ability to chose. You can chose to sin. Which BTW we have all done. Or we have the ability to chose to do good. It's a choice nothing more, nothing less. I think if anything it might be temptation that could be the enemy. Here is where your faith would be tested. Do you have a strong enough faith to resist the temptation to make the choice to sin.

Everyone slips or rather gives into temptation. Because we are not perfect. But recognizing that you have and praying about is our salvation. Because through prayer we can become stronger to resist the temptations to sin. Be willing to accept forgiveness also.

Copy that.
Sin is not an enemy...it is part of our Spiritual DNA if you will...our natural born state draws us to it.

Now... there is an Enemy who is a hungy lion seeking to destroy and his weapon of choice is indeed the sin we carry in our hearts.
