Yeah, the lowest gas prices in decades was ALL because of Trump, not because government basically grounded everyone to the house for half his term, shutting down businesses and putting out restrictions. Well... wait... that came from Fauci, who was working under Trump for his administration... so I guess you could say that Trump was "responsible" for them in a round-about way.

$600/week? That's wild. We buy in bulk and store brand everything. Shit is more expensive, but I guess we're fortunate enough that its not even close to being an issue. We spend around $300/week these days, with two boys who eat as much as I do. We also started hitting Aldi, they're significantly cheaper on a lot of things. |

It sucks. I've said it before, but we could just about buy a Denali with what we spend in groceries a month for a family of 3.... We're spending $300+ a week. Electric is up too. Everything is really. Knew this was gonna happen with the covid scam, but it doesn't seem reducing inflation is a priority for our government through these last 2 administrations. Its more revenue to the fedgov right? Why should they have to stop doing what they love just because the pleebs are struggling? 80 years of global policing. 80 years of selling out the middle class to globalism. 65 years of the war on poverty. 20 years of GWOT 18 years of welfare migration. 2 years of lockdowns 6 years of inflation. 6 months of short term pain at the pump. Spreading democracy. Flatten the curve. We're all in this together. Ukraine is a good deal. A drop in the bucket. Iran cant have nukes. Won't cost the taxpayers a dime. Its gotta stop. Our goverments spending habits matter. The value of the dollar matters The debt and deficit matter. Honestly, an attempt at austerity on Trumps behalf would have been a nice gesture. Our government needs to step the fuck back and stop trying to "fix" everything. |

My wife buys almost all the groceries so I’ve honestly been out of touch with where prices are. This past weekend she complained about grocery prices for the first time so it must be getting bad. We may be odd but we both have individual bank accounts and retirement accounts. We don’t really pay attention to each others accounts we just each have bills we pay. I asked if she needed some cash and she said no but it’s getting ridiculous. |
| The stuff I buy hasn’t really gone up in price.Bone in skin on chicken, flash frozen vegetables and brown rice.I occasionally buy pork chops.I don’t buy anything in a box or can really. I could save a few pennies buying fresh produce but I’ve learned to cook with the frozen stuff just fine plus it’s convenient. |

There's a real empathy disconnect here, they don't care. As long as "Well, I got mine, I can afford it, if you can't, you must suck somehow" is prevalent, they won't understand how elections get lost. Sure... I got mine. But if someone challenged me to do so, I would NOT want to take part in the "can yousurvive today challenge", where someone would take everything off you but $20k in the bank, you're unemployed, drive a 15 year old beater, and have to find a place to rent or buy and get a good job and start building again in September 2026. I'm doing well because of my past choices and past economies. Not this one. Decades of being able to stack away savings into investments (because life was much more affordable then) have let me piggyback onto the corporations of Wall Street and their profits, which will let me coast to the end. |

I don't like to disparage my wife about "organic". I see the attraction & it may have some validity but I can't stand paying more for it. Especially when it to easy to roll a tomato into a different bag with the organic label. The .gov will tell you that organic product production is tightly controlled but much like any commodity, if a dollar is involved, it's ripe for abuse. |

Yeah buying beef, organic produce, name brand laundry detergent adds up. Shit's expensive though. The older I get the more I understand why my grandma clipped coupons. If I save $10 every week at the store thats $500 a year. |

So you're saying that they will get reimbursed the money that I already paid them, and they aren't required to refund me the money? They are profiting off the tariff? Consumers who shop at big retailers such as Walmart and Target expecting to get tariff refunds is ridiculous. If you ordered something from overseas and you’re not the importer of record on the customs clearance, you are not entitled to get the refund directly. For a lot of smaller stuff, the carrier (FedEx, for example) is the IOR on the clearance. They’re the ones who get the refund directly from the Feds and you have to deal with FedEx (or whoever) for refund. But if you ordered a knife, it probably got hit with the Section 232 metal tariffs, not eligible for refunds, and didn’t get with the reciprocal tariffs, which did get refunded. |
