I'm looking for a compact backpack able to carry a taken down (in two parts) ar-15 SBR up to 11" . Would be great to have room for a couple of mags as well.

Ideally something in OD green or FDE, that is as compact as possible.

What are you guys using ?

Thanks

Years ago, 5.11 made covert packs for SBRs that look like they’re for carrying snowboards.

Some folks use tennis racket cases or music instruments case.

I use a Vertx Gamut for my MPX.

I use an Eberlestock Secret Weapon.  Fits my 10.3" SBR without having to break it apart.
Great bag, a bit on the heavier side tho.

I kinda like the idea of a pack that carries a broken down SBR, as the Sneaky Bag I have is a bit on the long side.

I use a Laptop backpack. Picked it up at a garage sale for $1. It has H&R Block embroidered on it.

Something inconspicuous from a non tactical provider IMHO

Its a backpack, it doesn't have to be some wiz bang sort of thing

I have one of these and love it.

Here is one I almost picked up, that looks nice. But I wanted less tacticool.

Amazon Product

  • It Features a QuickTact accessory strap, Ambidextrous carry system and reinforced grab and go handles
  • Internal foam padding at the top and sides, a padded muzzle cup, and integrated weapon retention straps ensure a safe carry

When I do a pistol build I'll probably get the 5.11, since there is a store across the street from my work.

Vertx EDC is 18in, which would be about just right depending on your muzzle device.

This x2. I have that on my 10.5” and it fits perfectly in a Jansport. No need to take it apart, just fold or unfold and go.

Mine fits a Springfield Saint pistol with a Law Tactical folder beautifully.

Is that legal on a pistol?

I have a hazard 4 sling pack that works well (https://www.hazard4.com/packs/sling-packs/sidewinder.html)

And a First Tactical pack as well that is solid (https://www.firsttactical.co.uk/collections/bags-packs). Seriously well thought out packs.

Can recommend either of the above.

Next purchase is going to be another hazard 4,  the pillbox, which is less tactical looking (https://www.hazard4.com/packs/day-packs/pillbox.html)

Wonder how this would work, be nice if it was available in a non-military color for a bit more stealth.
