You’re entering dangerous waters. That’s a bad deal.
I’ve been bugging my wife for a new motorcycle. I found a deal on a bike online, told the wife and she said yes. As long as I bought her a vintage tractor. I went to check out the bike. Told the guy I’d be back in two days. He sold it the next day.... wife found a tractor that same week. We now have a tractor. |

People like you two are fucking insufferable, and this is EXACTLY why I don't get a membership. I spend a shit-ton on guns and gear--and gold and sliver--a month. You fucking people think a few bucks a month means shit to some of us? I spend more than that on breakfast and lunch every day mon-fri. So fuck yo memboship!

Buy a silver bar instead OP. With luck she won't realize how much silver has devalued over the years. You can get a nice 100oz bar for around $1600+.

Buy from a trusted seller. There's actually fakes with tungsten rods in them. Also "certified fakes" encased in plastic. Use a major company like apmex. View Quote Tungsten has a very similar density when compared to gold; while expensive, it's still much cheaper than gold. There was a big hubbub years ago about a rumor that gold bars loaded with tungsten being found in vaults in the US. |

Well being I deal in things like this, how about you get the mac you want and a Browning 1918 for her that's been gold plated.
She will be so surprised! |

Go to town. They have everything from 1g wafers to 400oz gold bars for half a million bucks:

Is she wanting the gold for a SHTF scenario, or just wants to be able to brag about having a bar?
We buy these for SHTF. You can break off the small chunks, and you aren't paying for a "minted coin" with a value added in because of who/where it's minted. For me, gold is gold, and should the SHTF, nobody is going to care if you have a Krugerrand or gold you just panned out of a river. BTW, we don't buy from APMEX. Do some searching, and you can find these at a little better pricing. |

Machine guns? YES Gold bars? YES Membership? Gee, I can't afford that Let me explain this once again. Everyone who posts here has a membership. Some members choose to pay a fee for some enhanced features. Some dont. The ones who choose to pay a fee for some enhanced features are not somehow superior to the others and those who think so are pitiful, tiny little men who need membership in a website to validate their pathetic lives. |

The traditional bank transfer bar is probably what she was referring to. It has a weight of +/- 400 oz. as such is worth a little over 518k at current spot. As such she would be saying you can have a machine gun if you have a spare 1/2 million lying arround.
Fwiw this thread caused me to start reading Pike's thread in tream. LMAO when something be asked how much silver you should have as insurance-and the reply was your wife's weight in silver as your life insurance and then start on your weight in silver. After that you can invest in gold. All I could think of is my wife and I need to go on diets. I think my wife and my weight in silver would be close to $100k, but who is using a calculator. |

I did not adjust for Troy onces (which overstated my calculation by about 10%) and I rounded the weight a bit to 400lbs (about another 10%). (400x16x15.625=100,000.00). 80-85k is closer-plus commission.
But keep in mind that weight is weight, 12 Troy oz to the Troy pound are irrelivent. - As a joke, I told my wife I started vesting on my AR15.com life insurance program. It's going to take a couple of years. |

I think its funny that you have to take your wifes words very literal to buy shit you want.. but hey.. props for working the system..

BTW, explain to her that silver is very undervalued and instead of being 16:1 it's 83:1. The potential for gain is greater with silver. Gold being more compact is highly portable.

|
tell her gold isn't going to go much higher, if she wants a good return on the investment, that you'll get her silver

I'm betting she means a standard gold bar, not one of those trinkets. It was her way of saying "when pigs fly" If she's serious, you would need a minigun with an aircraft attached to be fair. "The standard gold bar held as gold reserves by central banks and traded among bullion dealers is the 400-troy-ounce (12.4 kg or 438.9 ounces)" View Quote |
