OP, I really want an M1A Scout Squad.
Sometimes how “good” the thing is doesn’t matter. It’s just having a cool thing ETA. Mini 14 is what I’m carrying in my red dawn fantasy |

Nothing wrong with that…..do it

Get the newly released folder. It's glorious.

Get one with that little gizmo on the right rear of the receiver.

I'm happy with my Mini 30 (after mods to reliably fire Russian crap). I have no need for amy 5.56 that isn't AR.

I have always had one kicking around. Newer ones are GTG. I got super lucky and got a LE turn-in before prices got stupid.

There has been more than one I should have kept.
Still want to tackle the ultimate Mini build project, mostly for the challenge. Most effective tactical rifle in sheep's clothing. Could end up being $3k plus for entertainment, so not high on my list as a poor. |

I'd wager there are multiple free things (like proper torque to the gas block) that help more. Attached File I'm of the opinion all the badgering about poor accuracy has given mini owners a complex. For me, if this guns under 12.5 MOA , it achieves my needs, fighting for 1 MOA doesn't matter to me at all for this gun. An A zone at 50 yards is the tightest group I'll need out of it. I'm not saying accuracy doesn't matter, but the hand wringing about accuracy from mini owners is borderline pathological at this point. I'd wager they'll easily out shoot an M1 carbine 9 times in 10, but no one worries about the M1 |

I'm ready for a stainless mini-30 in wood with the Samson rail and RMR . May as well skip steel case and go full domestic brass .
* chop the bbl to 14.5" and fix a birdcage . Chop the buttstock 1.5" . |

I would love to have one, but the current prices are just fucking crazy.

Except I also took off the factory front sight and had the barrel theeaded to put on an Accuracy Systems M-14 flash hider. I somehow lost the gas black gas bushing, so the gas pipe was just hanging in there. Hopefully soon the replacement pieces come in the mail. I think I will eventually add a red dot scope too - after all, Hanubal was not a young guy, and he would've eventually added a red dot. i am thinking an Aimpoint 3000, sort of retro. I have one on a savage O/U 223/12ga, maybe it should get something else. |

I’ve had two factory folders and at 10:22 and the new Samson Reproduction factory folder stock.
I will have another one. I love the gun. I love the original M1 grand, The M1 carbine, The M1, And the mini 14. I just enjoy those rotating bolt action. They designed is versatile to many different sizes rounds, and necessary configurations of use. |

The mini 14 is one of my favorite platforms, I just can't make myself keep one...I just hate the non standard magazines.

How's the accuracy on that one op? My 581 was a pretty solid 2moa gun. Kinda wish I kept it.
