I agree.
They are also contrary to the manual of arms as taught by Glock. Hand over slide manipulation is gospel. I haven’t been to a Glock instructor school for several years now but I don’t think that’s changed. |
ok boomer?
Click To View Spoiler I kind of agree though, gen 5 slide serrations look odd. My glock gen 4 Primary Machine slide has front serrations and they look good IMO.
Yes, they’re ugly, but I like the functionality of front serrations because I press check like a noob tool.
I'm a Glock guy, they always were ugly. I prefer function over beauty with them and I do like the serrations for functionality.
What is ugly is that half moon grip cutout on your early gen 5 G19.
You know how we know you're not cool enough to press check your Glock Steven Seagal style, OP?
If I was buying guns based on looks, I wouldn’t be looking at glocks. You are right though.
Who the fuck cares?
It's a handgun, and they're functional. I sure as shit don't care about some vertical lines. |
It is a tool... not a piece of art or a Texas BBQ gun!
Visual aesthetics do nothing to enhance function! |
Glocks are ugly, the front serrations don't really make it any worse and at least they're functional if you like grabbing the front of your slide for some reason.
I have achieved perfection with the Gen 5 Glock, front slide serrations and all.
It's a Glock.
They aren't exactly known for being pretty. That said, I always liked the looks of Glock's from an engineering and functionality standpoint. |
I have no use for front serations. Add nothing functional or looks wise for me.
Agree. Completely unecessary and ugly. The guys who like front slide serrations are the same guys who post pictures of their knives on instagram.
Tools need good features to be a good tool. Those are a perfect example. I wonder
about a person that wants beauty in an otherwise bland firearms tho. |
Glock and pretty were 2 words that have never gone together unless there was a "not" in there somewhere. Front serrations or lack thereof doesn't change that
I hate glocks and think the front slide serrations look pretty good
Still dont really want though |
We need a JB Weld or Bondo thread tutorial to learn how to fill those in. Like the opposite of a Dremel tutorial.
ETA or maybe grey50's welding skills? |
I dig em and I use em on my guns that have them. I've even thought about getting them milled into my Gen 4s
It's a Glock, I don't care.
If it runs, it's a keeper If it doesn't... well then it isn't a Glock |
I don’t really care one way or the other, I don’t use them.
Maybe if I had an optic I would. |
I wish my 48 didn't have them, but it does. Not a deal breaker.
I purposely had my Blue label dealer get me a Gen 5 G19 with the front serrations and no mag well cut off.
Glock was close to perfection with Gen 3 took care of slide bite with gen 4 grip panels... But finally brought it home with Gen 5 with no cut out and with front serrations. The slightly better trigger was just a bonus Thanks Gaston.... you magnifcient old Bastard...... |
Yes. Let's discuss the only feature that makes Glocks unattractive.
The front serrations are awesome as fuck and OP should be ashamed of himself for dissing them. On the MOS versions, with a red dot mounted, the front serrations are a necessity. Here's my Gen5 26 with not only the front serrations, but is USA made in addition. Just the way I want it.

Meh.....
Let’s face facts. All Glocks are ugly. I’m at the point where ascetic value is very LOW on my list when it comes to firearms. All my Glocks WORK. That’s all I care about. If I want pretty I’ll get out the 1911. |
Ugly. Who press checks a glock?!
They take advice from steven seagal for the gen5?? |
