My luck, I wouldn't find out they don't work after getting it all together and have to get the insurance to cough up some more dough. |

Yeah, same. I measured it and thought it would be too low so found a fix before i ordered it. Riser that bolt between the casters and box. Oh shit, that's cool. I do tend to bend over too far when messing about on the laptop or doing paperwork. Might have to snag a set of those. I don't do as much work on top of my box as I used to, so that was another factor to never getting one. I have some things set up on mine that I'd have to rearrange or work around. And I wouldn't be able to see, and therefore avoid, the boss coming.

The tool i use the most is my laptop. On my box i use it with a keyboard and mouse, recently I got a monitor, wow makes a huge difference with eye strain. With a hutch i plan to have a cleaner less cluttered work area and be able to keep it clean and relatively dust free. These are my current boxes along with a large work bench filled with tooling and stuff.

I call mine "the money train". When I got the cart, it freed up a ton of space in my main box. Now I "need" to fill that space. ETA: I thought about getting a monitor mount for the box so I could blow up schematics but still be able to see where things are.

My boxes are plumb full, things stacked on other things. Recently removed some wrenches for my cart just keeping everyday ones in there, easier to use now. Most have clutter and stuff i can get rid of. Some are crammed full with stuff. Bottom draw isn't too bad.  My top box had taps, bits and my measuring stuff like my Starrett's and small dial torque wrenches. I should be able to relocate them, maybe put that box on top of the hutch.

| I only have a few 1" sockets, the shop has a bunch up to about 4". The ones I have are ones I use ton of, or the shop doesn't have that size. My bottom drawer is all of my lifting stuff, and it is freaking heavy. I added another set of rails to it and it still makes all kinds of noise when I roll it out. |

That a set of Mac, 1-1/2 to 3-1/2. I got a killa deal on it from a tech who moved to an office job and needed cash. He wanted $300 and i think i had $200 on me and he took it. That was a long time ago. My lifting stuff, links, eyebolts, small chains, hooks and shackle are spread throughout my boxes in about 5 different draws. |

Two things. you can double your capacity by throwing away those shitty defective fractions on them and use proper wrenches with millimeters on them :) how often do you use those stubby wrenches and those goose neck /offest wrenches? |

Those are the wrenches I use everyday. I need 7/16 up to 2" so the sets have wrenches i don't use too often, those stay in the back of draws in the main box. I was putting on a hose yesterday, used a short stubby to snug it up and adjust the angles, angle wrench and a regular wrench to tighten one end, crows foot on a flex head ratchet with a stubby and prybar to tighten the other end. We have a lot of 16 and 18mm bolts, i have a bunch of different wrenches that share those 2 sizes. I have a couple 1/2" with the hard handles, they are ok, the soft grips get really slippery with oil on your hands. The only ratchet I don't have with a hard handle is my only 1/2" flex head. Today was the last day for a 26 year CDT tech. I've gained an extra bay, and am waiting for a new pay plan from our corporate overlords. I'm told I won't be going backwards and I've made it quite clear that I fully expect a significant increase in compensation. Its been crazy for a while. We have lost 13 techs this year alone, and have replaced none. All the line techs were given raises. Advisors and sales staff will be getting revised pay plans also. This has been quite the year of the new company flexing their standards and instituting them. We are still not fully in line with their standards but its been a lot of change in a short time. I had new CLA training last week. 800v and a lot of tesla influence on that unit. |

There was the typical push to get things done before the end of the year. I put in some long days and some Saturdays, delayed going on vacation a few days but got it done. Painters will touch it up and install decals over Christmas week. In the new year i have a few more days of work to do but, it's done enough that it can be invoiced . My next job, a 627F is already waiting outside for me.  Oh, this is how it looked when it showed up.  |
