I already signed up so I’m doing the driving part, but is the dinner/orientation worth  going to the night before?  My understanding is that it isn’t mandatory.  I wouldn’t mind just staying in town and skipping it.

Are extra cameras allowed?  I’ll pay for their video package no problem, however I also want to throw my 360 on the outside and my go pro inside.

Should I get the insurance?

You don’t have to do the dinner.  There is a bit of information and the grub wasn’t bad either.  Fell free to bring your own camera as well, I saw a few that did.  I would definitely pay for the insurance, just in case.

I did it two weeks ago. I did not attend the reception the night before mainly because my flight didn't get in until 10:30 PM, so I can't speak to that. However, it might be fun to meet people and chat if you're at all social.

I had a pair of meta glasses that they didn't care about. I don't know if you can bring something that mounts inside the vehicle. I think the email(s) they send speaks to that but you can always call and ask if you can't find the information. I bought the insurance since it was cheap peace of mind to limit my liability if I somehow destroyed the truck. Roll the dice however you want.

One of the people who attended got a flat out on the trails (nothing to do with insurance). They had that wheel off and the new one on in less than 5 minutes. Pretty impressive.

It's a lot of fun. You'll enjoy it. You are in and out of the trucks a fair amount, so dress for the weather. It was pretty windy where we had lunch and still cold. Just something to keep in mind.

One of the instructors recognized me from my YouTube days which was hilarious. Gun guy. Spent a fair amount of time chatting with him throughout the day and afterwards.

ETA: I love how @Howling_Coyote posts a jump photo as well right before me.

I’m there for 3 nights, maybe I’ll just kill time at the reception.  And looks like I’ll do insurance.  Thanks for the replies, looking forward to jumping someone else’s raptor.

And yep,  it’s a full year from purchase, and they ended the free program for 2026 and up model.  Mine is a 2025, had basically all this year to schedule.

100% will after I get to 5000 miles.  That and the intercooler, and that’s it.

Good plan. I was able to pull the intercooler I had off my 2018 and reuse it. Same with my lights. Just had to get a new light bar.

I'm probably not doing anything else to the truck.

Not most a Raptor thing, but I’ve heard those words said many a times and never followed through with.

I have enough project cars that “I’m keeping stock, I already have a car that does x.”

Honestly though, the raptor is just a really well balanced truck.  I like it as is, just needs a little more power.  I did consider the R, but the price on this one was too good to pass up.

To offroad it I have to go to a park, there aren't places by me. I did the same stuff to the prior one I owned. I have an old Benz (190e 16v) that needs some attention which it will get this year.

I'm happy enough with my Raptor where it is. It's a bit quicker than it was stock and that's all it'll be. There's nothing else I want to do to it other than maybe some wheels but that's a pretty low priority.

Some of us enjoy cars/trucks and ripping around.  You have fun with your mini van.

Do you really need an ar15/5.56 for shooting paper?
