I have a 2x6 trim board under my slider and above the deck planks (outside obviously). I was thinking of finishing it with BLO or tung oil. Has anybody done such a thing,and how do you think it would look/stand up to the elements.Thanks

Had a cedar house finished w Ducksback. It does have to be re-coated every few years but it’s not sloppy like paint and enhances the wood color rather than fade to grey like a fence does

In Nov '21 I built a redwood/doug fir outdoor table and benches and finished it with the cetol linked below. I live in a very high sun exposure area that sees fog/condensation almost daily. It's holding up well so far with minimal crazing. It does have a yellowish tint to it though.
