I ordered 4 from silencer shop the day after ruling. 2 in stock, 2 out of stock. Every few days got the same email, need finger prints, pic etc. Multiple unanswered emails and phone calls later, all 4 have arrived at my dealer. Fyi my acct still says they need that info. I'd say their system is still messed up. Mine came so don't give up hope. eta: Im in kansas |

@ODA_564 @dcs12345 Thank you guys for the information. I got in touch with the good guys at Silencer Shop asking about a refund. At this point I am too close to my trip back to New Mexico - if they couldn't ship in the next few days it's probable that the cans wouldn't be at my gun shop while I am there. I will find out what they can do. |

I ordered an in stock can on Aug 20 to send to my local dealer who is doing 4473 transfered. Still hasn’t shipped from SS. Shown as waiting for Form 3 approval to ship for the last two weeks (which I doubt is true). Of course, you can’t call them and ask what’s actually going on since you can never get a hold of an actual human. |

We exchanged messages and he was super helpful - but there just isn't enough time left for the process to finish and then the shipping agent to deliver in time with any degree of confidence. At this point I wouldn't be very picky if I find an FFL in my state which has anything in one of the calibers I want - and if they are transferring on a 4473. |

Hearing a rumor of a WA shop doing 4473 transfers on cans despite state law written to require federal registration for actually using them. (Read that carefully, along with what follows). No idea if it is true, should know more soon. Technically I can see a good argument that it would be totally legal to sell them this way, as state law says this is what is illegal: Uses any contrivance or device for suppressing the noise of any firearm unless the suppressor is legally registered and possessed in accordance with federal law That is all- nothing mentioned about selling them, just when using them. Being possessed in accordance with federal law is easy if you are a lawsuit group member. “Legally registered”….could mean anything from “hey a 4473 = registration” to “we emailed you a list!”. Or it could be a matter of “it is fine to sell them, registration per state law is the owner’s problem before use”. There is actually state precedent for this type of thinking, as suppressors have long been legal to own in WA, just not legal to actually use them until about 15 years ago. (Ahhh yes, politicians and their stupidly written laws…) One issue is that the state background check system has no way to do NFA items, so there would need to be a workaround to do that, or to just use NICS to do the BG check. (And WA had the feds shut down all state dealers NICS accounts, so you would need to get the account restarted I guess, which I do know the FBI will do). I have not heard of any guidance from WSP on the issue except for a BS email they sent out early on, saying nobody in WA was affected by the lawsuit (totally wrong, as lawsuit members can totally do SBR’s.) The place I am hearing about is unlikely to be taking a big legal risk, but I am hearing it 4th hand so I will know more soon I hope. Meanwhile- I just got back a $200 tax paid 40mm Form 1, along with a $0 AOW Form 1, and a whole bunch of $0 suppressor Form 1’s as well. Also some Form 4’s. Haven’t yet done a no registration SBR as I can’t decide which firearm to do, as I already have dozens of $200 and $0 SBR’s…. Not a problem I would have expected to have say 15 years ago! I still suggested to my kid today to get as many zero dollar Form 1’s and Form 4’s approved as possible right now, because I don’t trust blue states like OR and WA to fix this at the state level, in fact they likely will try to fuck over gun owners even further and claim it isn’t their fault. So I would personally not sit on my hands if a resident of a state where federal registration is still required by state law, because yes, it can be worse than doing a free NFA registration- maybe in 2027 such states just outlaw such items regardless. We know the dems love to pass laws now and fight in court later (using our tax dollars to do it). And we know some legislators plan to do exactly that kind of thing, as they are freaking out right now over federal restrictions being loosened. (“OMG- the peon citizens are actually buying suppressors at an alarming rate- quick, outlaw them!”). OR did exactly that with FRT’s last year, so trusting the benevolence of dem legislatures is probably a bad plan… get it while the getting is good, and 2026 overall has been a damn good year for NFA type items so far…. If you plan to wait for the Supreme Court to slap down states doing that kind of stuff, you might wait a long time, and not be that happy about how they rule, as they seem OK with registration schemes overall…. Best to get your suppressors now, legally in whatever way possible, than to trust a democrat politician to help you out so you can buy one with less paperwork in the future, is basically what I am trying to say. 2026 is one for the record books for sure already, plus the Supreme Court will be hearing an AWB case in a couple months…. Dems are getting their teeth kicked in at the federal level, and hopefully soon at the state level as well. Nice to be winning for once. Despite what Trump once said, I am not yet tired of all the winning! |

Think a few members here ended up getting burned on that as well. Shame because they were cool dudes that had one hell of a gun business going. I'm in Ohio, state law prohibits the possession of NFA firearms that aren't either registered in the NFRTR or the owner has an Ohio Dangerous Ordnance License. No one in Ohio is buying suppressors on 4473s. I'm personally, actively working with the County Sheriff to make that license available to Ohio Residents. When the Sheriff starts issuing the DOL, I'll start selling suppressors on a 4473. I always have been, and am still skeptical of the situation and don't trust the ATF to not jam up dealers down the road over this. I've never said a bad thing about any dealer selling on a 4473. I'm stating a fact that the claim of "dealers passing inspection" doesn't justify, allow, or prove jack shit regarding anything related to 4473 sales without documented proof. If the claim was true there would be a supporting ROV issued and signed by the IOI. There is no reason to not share that ROV - if it existed. It doesn't exist, because it's a bullshit claim and no one with any intelligence would use as justification to make a decision related to their business. |

My wife and mine are up for renewal again this year and because of our state laws as well as almost all of our neighboring states we’ve decided not to renew after having one for 30 years. It offers no advantage currently unless traveling through a stupid blue state which we have no future plans on doing. Going to feel weird not having one but here we can carry anything we want loaded and ready to rock. Without a permit! |

| I recently ordered an Obsidian 9 and a couple of non NFA accessories for it. I had poor communication on the can and none on the small items. I got the can in a reasonable time shipped to a 4473 dealer. The small stuff was not with it. Tried emails and Hiram said he did not know anything. They finally showed up in my mailbox after 20 days. |

A corner stone of GD, as of forever ago, has been " Their store, their rules". Also, your anology is riddled with legal errors, and misrepresents the entire history of the challenges of the cannibis industry to operate. They have been debanked due to federal laws, neighboring state police have surveilled and seized money traveling through their state, from marijuana sales. Etc, etc, etc. So you think FFLs should follow this model, and not expect problems? |

I haven’t been tracking this thread but for anyone in KC on the Kansas side - Eagle Armory in OP is transferring on a 4473. They are asking that you are GOA members. I didn’t even know the place existed until I started calling around. Great place, tons of inventory. Walked out with 2 cans they had in stock |
