Any chance you can accurately be a smartass in dollars & cents?

Do US made models get the European pressure test marks?

Is there a difference in quality between the two?

My quick look at gunbroker suggests they don’t really command much of a premium at all.

I would like one of the new multi cam SCARs now with even more mismatched color scheme

That seller is a shop local to me.

I've bought some gun there over the years, and they are good guys.

The price difference wont be large now; but 25 years from now it will be.

Austrian AUGs are worth 2x more easy.

Nothing?

No need to create division amongst Scar operaters. We all own one to flex on AR plebs.

Some slight fde color variation is pretty much it.
I think the Belgium models look better.

I had a Belgium made SCAR 16 FDE and now own a US produced SCAR 17 FDE NRCH model. Couldn't tell the difference between the two, in terms of quality. The Belgium lower had the magwell blocker that was shaved off, US one didn't and the Belgium one had the sticker that the US one does not.

As for collectible years from now, I'm sure the Belgium will command a higher premium, being they only were sent to USA for a period of time, whereas the US ones continued on.

I prefer clones and just finished up a mk17. I wanted an early FDE shaded Belgium 17 and I noticed they were $200-500 more expensive than a used Columbia 17s. Also were much harder to find so there weren’t many to compare prices to. I’m sure years from now that gap will grow.

No, because there is no valid data.

A Belgian made 17S with a reciprocating charging handle versus a US made 17S with a non-technical charging handle?

Or both with reciprocating charge handles?

Does the buyer care?  Does the Belgian manufacture make lighter, more accurate, or better finished?  Is there collector demand?

I've owned real "collectors guns".  Value is always what a buyer is willing to pay when you want / need to sell.

I wouldn’t trade my 20 gauge Belgian made Superposed with matching barrel sets, that I will be inheriting, for anything.

As far as Belgian made Scars, I have no idea.

First off, not the best question to ask in GD if you want legit responses.  Ask in the FN forum in the Armory.

Here, you're going to get responses:

- Those that own the US-made ones who will insist that there is no difference in quality/value.
- Those that own Belgian-made ones will insist that they have a higher collectability, are more rare and therefore command a premium.
- Those that just use it and don't care and will make fun of you for even asking.

Best guess is to look at other similar rifles that are US-made versus European-made and no longer imported.  AUG was one example mentioned previously.  Perhaps SIG handguns...

A collector will likely pay more.

A shooter won't really care.
