This happened to me twice. I finally learned to stop using my debit card and use credit cards for everything. Then just instantly pay off what I put on the card.
That way if they steal the card info, the CC company can get their own money back and keep mine in my bank account. |

On line?? If online call the number on transaction(Target phone #) that shows on your account. Explain what’s going on and have them look up order under YOUR name and info. It will have had to be placed using your name, card# and address. They(target) should be able to cancel the transaction and possibly stop the shipment to whatever ship to address the their has set up
ETA: I’ve found you have to be proactive. My bank has a system set up that anytime a purchase of $1 or more is made I get a txt and a email. I’ve had 100% success in the path doing what I described above in getting the charges cancelled/reversed and keeping the thief from getting the stolen shit. |

Get a credit card, pretend it is a debit card (dont spend more than your account balance) stop using your debit for anything other than ATM.

I have a separate account for my paycheck that has no debit card tied to it. I transfer money over to another account that does have a debit card when needed. I use a mobile banking app to do so, takes like 20 seconds to do.

I have multiple cards and have alerts sent to my phone for any transactions over $50. Also each morning I check my accounts and reconcile each one daily. It takes about 10 minutes but it provides great peace of mind.

Don’t use debit cards. They can duck you over. I keep a couple of visa’s with mileage plan miles. Pay everything thing with those cards then pay them off every month. We can usually fly to Hawaii twice a year with the miles we get. |

Luckily, my bank issued MasterCard debit card affords me the same protection as a normal MasterCard. Been hacked twice with the charges reversed after I noticed it. Small town bank.
