Liked the Sopranos a lot. Been watching the marathon. Had forgotten how good it was.
Best thing HBO ever made. Tony is an amazingly complex character, and Gandolfini nailed it. |

Paulie Walnuts was one of my favorite characters in the show. The scene where he and Christopher were chasing a guy throught the woods to kill him and he was yelling about getting poison ivy

I was lucky that it was one of the ones that was on when I watched this weekend. |

Caught bits and pieces of it this weekend and man, I want to see it all now. I only watched the first season or two back in the day because I turned 18 and joined the Army and left the house. I couldn't discern nuance back then. |

My take is that Tony is culturally trapped in his role, and smart enough to understand the dirty side of it. This is why he’s got so many psychological issues. He both loves and hates who he is, and wants nothing more than for his kids to get as far removed from his life as possible. He knows from the first episode that there is no happy ending for him. A movie about how he gets there (as long as we don’t get beaten to death by his cunt of a mom) could be extremely interesting. Young Tony, with Paulie, Sil, and Pussy would be cool as hell. When you’re young, you don’t worry about how the story ends. |
