We have a Pogues cover band here in NE Ohio called The Boys From the County Hell.

They are spot-on, amazing, I’ve sung along with them many times.

They are playing The House of Blues, Flannery’s, and The Harp in Cleveland this St. Patrick’s Day.

We have missed out the past two years, but the Celtic festival at Dublin Ohio is freaking Huge and Awesome.

Several stages. Great food trucks (must eat at Celtic Pig). Music everywhere from sitting right in front of you acoustic to modern Irish to workshops.

Really hoping they get their shit together this summer. One of the very few festivals I attend.

7 Drunken Nights (Full Version) - Púca Live at the Arlington Hotel, Ireland

ETA-lousy version but it's the only version of the song I can find with all 7 verses.

"the wild rover" by the clancy brothers/more of an aussie song though

PS who is Alice?
Who the fuck is Alice?

I recall you may have been a Philly resident in the past; Irish Mist played "The Wild Rover" on Saturday night while I was at The Bishop's Collar near Eastern State Penitentiary.  Good times.    I used to go to the bottom level of Finnegan's Wake to hear the traditional Irish bands in the 90s and early 2000s, unfortunately that place is now gone.

I have spent a fair amount of time in Ireland and I have to say there really isn’t much audience participation in the Trad songs.

Now you throw some Neil Diamond, Sweet Caroline on and they lose their minds.

When I first started going over there, it was more popular.

But as the pub scene died off, so did that tradition.

I played in an Irish band for over ten years.  I've sang plenty. The Parting Glass may be my favorite.
