My best buddy from back in the day did that. He got in some sort of domestic dispute, fought the cops, and stabbed himself in the stomach. He didn’t succeed and went to jail instead.

If by Seppuku, you mean the ritual of suicide by disembowelment, no. I've never seen that. I have seen a nutjob try to disembowel himself with a carving knife. The cops pepper sprayed him and broke his arm with one of those sticks that cops hit people with.
