I bring food and spend time with a Vietnam vet who robbed a few banks. He’s reformed, good guy

Yes, he was a neighbor back when I lived in Scotland.

Dusting off the memories...
Fred was a bro from the army. Spent lots of time with him and Cheryl. She's in prison for hiring someone to murder him. A friend from High School's brother did time for kiddie porn and is presently on his way back for beating on his parents. Someone we used to let babysit our kid did time as a child molester years later. |
|
Many. A couple of notables are a guy I went to school with kidnapped and raped a woman.
A good friend of my brother and a passing acquaintance of mine met a 14 year old girl online, drove to Washington State, picked her up and took her to another state and was caught hiding in a motel with her. He was 24 or 25 at the time. He spent a good amount of time (not enough) in prison for it. |
|
Also, would pass a kid in the hallway during high school that always smelled like weed but seemed nice enough. Would exchange hello's and that was about it. Year or two after I graduated, he was arrested for carrying a gun on him in school, apparently he had been doing it daily for years.
Another kid was our star quarterback, went on to win a D2 national championship on scholarship. He graduated from college and was a week away from graduating from the police academy. Got arrested for beating his girlfriend unconscious in front of their child. |
|
I went to high school with couple of guys that did hard time in state prison after graduation. One of them was killed in a prison break.

Yeah I know a bunch. I am not even counting my roofers on my crew.

Buddy of mine named Joel is serving 50-75 in MI state prison. He has probably been in for 12 years now. Haven’t talked to him since 3-4 months before his arrest.
All of my neighbors in Oregon were shitbags. Section 8 and we were the only ones paying rent. David “Cookie” spent half of his time as my neighbor in prison. Car theft, drugs, assault. His brother Anthony was also in prison the other half of the time. Their sister went to jail frequently but never served time. Her boyfriend was a black dude in some Portland gang. Across the street was some scumbags from eastern Oregon. Worked at a gas station after serving prison time. The one dude tried to bang my Buddy’s wife and got knocked out. Next to them was a dude cooking meth in the garage. He got caught breaking into the tweaker neighbors car and served time. He got out and was trying to push meth on my roomies kids. Next to him. Raul. He got my roomie’s daughter drunk and fucked her. 13 years old. He was 46. Knocked her up. His girlfriend didn’t care until he slapped her around and their 4 year old kid. Her oldest son was a Latin King. I watched them beat him within an inch of his life. Shit was wild back then. |

Did 10 years in tdcj prisons. 2006-2016 minus a year in Afghanistan.
Gurney,Beto, powledge, coffield, skyview, hodge, Boyd,Michael. Worked there |

This guy used to come to my house frequently. Just your standard con man. He was actually a pretty nice guy. I just figured he embellished his stories. Duped a friend of mine out of over $400,000.

Former BIL is a registered sex offender (kids). He is an absolute waste of skin.

|
Yes. Many. All sorts.
My babysitter growing up killed someone and is/was on death row. |
|
Yeah. Take your pick. Arson, Murder, Vehicular Homicide, Bank Robbery, Rape, Embezzlement and other not as bad Misdemeanor shit. You really don’t know people until you really know them.
|
|
|
Yeah more than a few. Grew up with several. Most you didn't see it coming. When we were young they were normal kids. Shit changed when they reached early adulthood.
A couple you just knew were destined for big trouble at a young age. They did not disappoint. Arson, Rape, theft, man slaughter , and other shit. |

Years ago I worked with a guy who came in one day and packed his tools and left. About a week later some feds showed up asking about him, the building manager told me all he knew was the feds told him the guy was using the name and social security number of a dead guy in Florida. I always thought that was odd.
Only other one I can think of is this guy I gave a ride home to after a party when I was a teenager. https://www.villagevoice.com/2000/11/21/the-dangerous-son/ |

High school friend, raped two girls, robbed three fast food places, was convicted of kidnapping.
He pulled up to a McDonalds drive through, stuck a gun in the window and demanded money, then reached out of his car and grabbed the girl in the drive through window and drug her out, dragged her on the ground as he was leaving, got out and stuffed her in his car. The police were responding his last robbery job when they got the call. Less than 4 blocks away. Serving a "long term" sentence in the California penal system. Been in there since he was 21, he hasn't made parole yet. |

Quoted: not sure about the statute of limitations so I'm zipped well, except for that John Evans on the Sparky View Quote Yes. Guy on my second navy ship. I didn’t know him well but he was booted from my division for stealing. Why they kept him on board I have no idea. At any rate, a few years later, I was looking up stuff about the ship and his name came up. Apparently he was convicted of using Craigslist ads to conduct armed robbery - FIVE TIMES. While awaiting the court hearing he called the victims to threaten them against testifying. He got 5 lifetime sentences, and on appeal it was dropped to 30 years. |

Yes...
I know a murderer. He is the brother of a guy I hung out with in High School. The dude was always sketchy as fuck so him killing someone was no surprise. Also know a guy (another friend from high school) whose been busted multiple times for Marijuana growing. He's actually not a bad person just dumb about women. He got mixed up with a chick whose ex as a state trooper. Without going into details he had a falling out with the ex and got sent to jail as a result of her actions. Jail time really fucked that guy up. |
|
I'm in the hood. I hired people from the hood. Think about that.
Won't hire convicted thieves, armed robbers, or murderers. |

It has been over 25 years ago but when I was in high school I did a lot of ranch work - cowboy type shit. A guy we met working on a ranch who was several years older than us that we ended up hanging out with a lot was on the run for a double murder. He did some kind of work on the road and came home and caught his wife in bed with some other dude and killed them both. Evidently he bounced around the country doing ranch work staying off the radar. I never knew his real name everyone called him Smiley. I didn’t even know about what he did until he had left and moved on to who knows where and one of my buddies told me about it. Never heard about him again after he disappeared no idea if he ever got caught. Hell I don’t even know any specifics about him like even what state his murders occurred in.

One of my neighbours I grew up with.
He’s high up in the mob now. My chem lab partner in high school was an offensive lineman. Super nice guy. After high school he got mixed up with the wrong crowd and went to a big drug deal with someone to provide protection. He got shot and died. They all got caught and did time. |

Quoted: Yeah man. Whole families of criminals. Where I was a cop, there were families with 3 generations that had spent time behind bars. View Quote My father was a cop, and arrested some local sophisticates in our community, then I came along a few years later and arrested their (then adult) children...does that count? Dad got a smile out of it in his retired years, peace be upon him |

Like a guy who's family owned a demo yard on Staten Island with lots of 'interesting' characters coming and going? A guy who had blacked out SCUBA gear for retrieving items off of freight ships in harbor? Sure did....hes dead though.
|
|
Well, yes. But, I'm retired career law enforcement.
So, I couldn't even begin to county the ones I've known, and I'm only counting the ones who I got to know really well, because they became informants or cooperators. Most, while often charming, and frequently likable, are complete sociopaths. |

@ buckshot_jim
You never thought he would try to jump on you ? Was that because he only targeted white females ? |
|
Not really unless you count a kid on my little league team who i found out several years later got 20+ years for selling drugs and guns charges.
|

Yes, several. Biggest offender spent most of his adult life in prison, worst offense 2nd degree murder. He's currently in the middle of a disability scam. I figure it's only time before he fucks up again.

I know who burned a block of old wood frame buildings just off the square.
I wouldn't be surprised if he started the fire that burned the other side of the street, too. He's dead, and good riddance. Someone should have cleaned up the planet far sooner. There are others, that one pisses me off the most. Reading through the posts here cause me to remember more dirtbags. My cousin's kid for one, he should remember the warning, I'd hate to see his mom and especially my uncle cry. |
|
Yes, had a very close family member date a guy who was a con artist and ended up being a murderer later on. I always hated being around him when I was a kid.
He's rotting away in prison now. He'll die there eventually |
|
I knew and shot archery with Robert Hanson the butcher baker in anchorage ak. Seemed like a quiet polite guy.
|
|
Yes a few of them... unfortunately. One of them is dead, not sure about the others. Several spent time in jail and one is probably still in the nut house.
|

I knew one member of the infamous 'Steinhatchee Seven', he's dead now.

A few,
Worked with a guy I am sure killed another in a drug deal, same guy is in prison for molesting his daughter from a very young age to her teens. Very good friend and neighbor in prison for 48 years for shooting at cops. Had a good friend manage to get the local swat team to swarm his house over him shooting at neighbors house with his SKS, racially motivated. Another got his kicks stealing oilfield trucks, rampaging through the desert until broken, then set a rock on the gas pedal, drink beer til it exploded, then burn. I heard the number was as high as 30. Little brother of one of my kids friends awaiting court for drive by on an occupied house, intent was to hit the couple inside. Lots more, these are the highlights I can think of. |
|
I worked with a guy who went to prison for a bunch of drug related charges, all meth stuff. Manufacturing, possession, intent to distribute. He was locked up for like four or five years then went on parole until like the year 2027 or something, apparently the county he did all this stuff in doesn't like dope fiends.
ETA - More recently, one of my customers at work made the front page of the paper. He ran a heavy duty truck repair outfit, the cops raided his place and found stolen vehicles, over $100K in cash, and various drugs like prescription pills, weed, meth, etc, one of his mechanics was a felon and he got busted for having a firearm. |
|
I worked in a bunch of restaurants in Daytona beach. I was I think the only one not on parole or otherwise with a record
