Over the years I've followed several long-running threads and kept up with the original poster's updates; unfortunately many of these threads are serious topics (cancer, the dog bite thread etc).  Additionally, you have the humorous "safe threads" where you hope the OP eventually comes back and closes the loop (queue the anytimenow skeleton meme).

Can we get an option to receive an email notification when the OP of a thread posts a new reply?
