seizing property? if he's such a bad person, why not seize him? apparently he keeps doing bad shit since it's happened more than once.

if he's left to go free, all he's gonna do is go buy more cars.

We should send some foreign aid to the country to help feed them.

FBHO must be so jealous of that president-for-life gig.

Currently the US sends no foreign aid to Equatorial Guinea. We also export more to them than we import.

Was expecting the same media definition of "supercars" as they have of "arsenal".

Was shocked. At least they didn't do punitive government shit like make a public show of running them over with a bulldozer. Hopefully they went to good homes.

ETA: Last line in the article "If you’re wondering where the money for these cars came from, the BBC quotes Human Rights Watch as saying the “dictatorship under President Obiang has used an oil boom to entrench and enrich itself further at the expense of the country’s people.”

How is this any different then what almost all the Democrats and most Republicans do here?

Guy is the African version of Joe Biden's son.

I remember reading comments on car articles back in the day and the majority of comments would post things like crush those icky machines and donate the proceeds to minorities. Nobody needs anything but a Prius.

Nothing got my blood pressure higher. Crush a Lamborghini? Come and take it bitch.

And the money is being donated back to a "charity" for the people of Equatorial Guinea...

I'd wager that since his dad is a dictator (IE president for life) , and kid is assistant dictator (literal title is VP for life) kid would be classed as a diplomat... not sure how that works legally but id imagine that arresting said diplomat isn't going to happen, BUT seizing property is totally ok.

This is all due to the legacy of colonialism, I.e., the white debbil made him buy all those cars.

The company I work for has facilities and operations in Equatorial Guinea. The family is a piece of work. Weirdly, they speak Spanish there. They think themselves very fancy. You have to wear a suit and tie for all meetings with them.

They're not stupid though. They know how to play by the rules so US companies can work there and they can reap the benefits.

He'a president for like 35 years running. Took over from his uncle, who he killed...
