Send the spousal unit out with specific instruction to bring back some plain Doritos.
She came back with Original Cool Ranch.  She told me I was crazy, and that she had never seen Doritos that were not flavored.

Their Web Site still shows Toasted Corn.
Amazon comes up empty.
Target and WalMart say out of stock

Do they still exist?  If not, when did they disappear?

The closest that seems to still exist is "lightly salted."

I remember seeing them a while back, but not recently.  I think they call them Tostitos now.

Wouldn't that just be regular tortilla chips?

I've run into the same thing ... no "plain" Doritos. Don't give me those freakin flavored ones. They suck.

Closest one I can think of is the "Original" flavor...

Edit or this I guess?

Good Lord l haven't seen a bag of those in years!

(The Taco Flavored,  edit made while l was typing. )

The original flavor was the plain the op is looking for.  Then came the taco flavored.  We ate the hell out them when that happened. To Boy Scouts in the 70's Doritos were standard camping fare.

The bottom image.  The bag used to have a huge clear window, with yellow around it.

Yea...they are pain tortilla chips, but the texture was better.  I think they were baked, instead of fried.

Yeah. Like that bottom picture.
I would try a bag if I ever saw them.

Taco Flavor in the 80s is about as far back as I go.  I do remember when "Cool Ranch" was an earth shaking development in the chip world though.

Sudden urge for Crystal Pepsi or 7Up Gold rising...

They have been discontinued.

They're gone, no more

I see the taco flavor being touted. In my childhood (late 80-early 90s) there was a taco bell supreme version. That is what I remember them being.

Is the new/old taco version the same?

Taco was out of circulation for long time I can’t remember the taste. I didn’t buy Doritos until a year or so ago when I seen the Taco back out. I just know I seen a video of a Chinaman shitting out various flavors of Doritos that didn’t include Taco. Taco is American made and the recipe is closely guarded by ex seal team commanders.

That cheeseburger flavor is from the Chinaman after he ate a McDonalds Big Mac.....with “special sauce”.

The Taco Bell version was so much better than the weak ass regular taco flavor they have now.

I love them, I called Doritos on Tuesday and they told me they were discontinued. Said they would forward my query to their marketing dept. The told me they own Tostitos and since they make something similar I should give them a try.

Never seen them before.

I used to love the 3D ranch doritos in the mid 90s.

Naw, Doritos had a buttery seasoning on them.

I bought a bag of cool ranch doritos once and it had zero seasoning, just corn chips.  I sent an email and received coupons in the mail.

flavor is the point of Doritos.  I didn't know they ever made a 'plain'.  Plain Doritos to me is Nacho Cheese.  Cool ranch is the tits.
