[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Does ARF use Viglink Shopping ? Redirecting to Viglink from link in post ??

A member was looking for a part and I posted a direct link to Midway for the item he was looking for. After posting I checkied the link in the post and I was redirected to Viglink and it said the reason I was seeing its page was that ARF uses Viglink on its site page ??, Is this correct ? There is no added redirecting text in my posted link, so it seems to be a site induced redirect ? Try my link in the test post forum below and tell me what you see ?

Seems no one wants to answer so either this has been going on for a while and no one wants to say yes it's a normal revenue maker ???

As has been answered, yes. We use an affiliate network (3rd party script) for non-team links to generate revenue and we also create specific links manually (no external script, just on our side only) for a handful of companies for team members. This way we do not expose Team to any 3rd party handling.

Only way to avoid is is to post a broken link, OP. eBay, Brownell's, PSA. And Brownell's and PSA are happy to participate in the collection and selling of your shopping habits.
