Agreed.
And the first three weekends in November is deer season. I don’t miss that for anything. It puts a lot of meat in the freezer.

I DO like the idea and I wish I could participate.

Finances and feeding mouths take precedence when you don’t have a lot extra.

For my part I have been returning every single NRA money request with red sharpie writing stating issues and necessary outcomes needed. Same thing when they call...

As a NRA Life Member I fully support your position on this matter however, like many who agree with you, I unfortunately won't be attending this rally. With this in mind, may I suggest that in addition to your march that we devise a letter campaign that would truly reflect (larger number than people at the rally) the memberships dismay with the current course of the NRA. Maybe a template, receipt signature required letter that's addressed to all NRA leadership positions. The letter might contain templated language that identifies membership concerns and a pledge to cut off donations until there is a qualitative course correction within the NRA. Just something to think about.

This is a great idea. Hindsight is 20/20.

We have 3 date options. Rather than what is easiest, commit or don't.

Realize the importance of what we are facing here. Realize the importance of what we woke up to this morning. The 3rd mass shooting, well 4 if we count chicago...in very recent times.

We are currently under a renewed and mounting attack.

Nobody else thought organize this. Nobody else brainstormed and gave a date.

Hell I tried to do that my HTF and it failed miserable. I did not have the clout to pull it off.

WE ARE LAZY F***RS WHEN IT COMES TO OUR RIGHTS. Not everybody can go and I get that. But what makes one event more powerful than another. A stand alone event COULD be good. But not if everybody that COULD actually go sits at home because they are tired that day.

Sometimes you got to give til it hurts.....TIME, MONEY, THOUGHTS, SPEECH

Hope to see you guys there, where ever there is. This is the largest gun forum in the world trying to make something happen. This is like NRA Lifetime memberships going on sale the first time.

Given the BoD is mostly for show, and the Executive/nominating committee and WLP is the real power, how exactly will this get any movement directly against those entrenched in power, who have changed the bylaws specifically to stay in power and prevent outside influence like this from having an effect?

I can take a Friday off. Drive out on Friday, protest Saturday, drive home Sunday. It will cost gas money, but I have a Camry, so that won't be much. A cooler with sandwiches, some cold Mt Dew, and maybe one restaurant meal should be about $350.00. I can probably afford that, and I drive a $700.00 car.

I realize this and it was hard to try to find a date. Hunting season is critical to a lot of families, but if we push this off, then we are looking at April/May of next year and it wont be what we need. It has to be now we take a stand against all the wrongs. Not everyone is going to be able to make it and that's fine. We do need a big showing so that the rest of the community sees that we are united behind saving the NRA and keeping our voices heard. It's 1 Saturday that could mean our rights for years to come. It's worth doing whatever it takes.

To make a statement to the NRA that we will not go quietly into that good night. We will gather to show that we need the NRA and support the NRA, but UNDER THE RIGHT LEADERSHIP AND STRUCTURE! It's a fight that has been coming and it's time for us to make this stand as members and supporters. There are other fights going on in other venues at the same time. Ask for $ help, set up a Go Fund Me, ask for arfcomers in your area to ride share and/or split hotel rooms...there are creative ways to participate. Can’t help with time off of work, though.

I am all for help from folks with this and am fine with funds being raised as long as they go 100% to this effort. I do not want to be involved in the collection and maintaining of the funds. I think a small group (mini-board?) should be created to be in charge of this and ensure it is properly being handled to avoid problems. To be crystal clear, I do not want anything for myself out of these efforts. I do not want recognition. I do not want to define a new NRA structure. I do not want to be part of the new NRA leadership. I want to simply walk away knowing we did what we could for everyone and that fail or succeed, at least we gave everything we could. I count myself lucky to be in a position where I can help spread the message and do what is right. If I can play a role in saving the NRA, then that's what I will do. Please do not look at me as anything but another pro 2nd guy who loves his country, his rights, and who would see our 2A protected.

Do what you can to make this happen. Understand that the future of the NRA is at stake and we CAN make a difference. I don't want to be in DC in November anymore than you do, but the hardest fights are the ones worth fighting.

This will not be ignored if we can muster enough of our folks to stand strong. The nation is waiting to see what we do. The only thing I can say to you is to have a little trust and faith in this and me. There are many things in motion right now, but the MEMBERSHIP is the most important part. The NRA has to learn that we can and will mobilize when we needed and that our voices are what make the NRA viable. There's a reason it's a Grassroots effort.

There are other things in motion along with this rally. There are already MANY inside the NRA who know this has to happen and support it. We STILL need to make our stand and not make excuses as to why we missed this. Talk is cheap. We either fight or we don't and if I have to stand there alone, then so be it. Just spitballing but how about coordinating with other orgs, the Save the NRA guy (Mr Dell’Aquila), Brownell's, GOA, SAF, VCDL, etc... to get the word out and increase attendance? I don't know any big wigs, just throwing it out, the more the merrier.

Most companies will stay silent on this. It's too much of a risk I imagine, but what do I know. Maybe some will come to our side and throw in behind doing what is right. They need the NRA as much as we do and are also part of the membership.

As to others involved. There are many others involved and will help spread the word for this effort. I do not make this call alone. This is part of the big fight!

I agree with this. But I think most use it as an excuse.

And as a self respecting Texan that hunts... Lol at the, "But muh opening weekend!" crowd. Go another fucking weekend. It's called deer season. Not deer weekend.
