So we have an object entering our solar system just like Oumouamoua

Avi Loeb thinks “all possibilities should be on the table” click

Meanwhile Jeremy Corbell says this is 100% a lie… click

Don’t know who’s right or who’s being hyperbolic…

This is the “we are on borrowed time” thing potentially.  It’s  7-mile wide extra solar object behaving in an unexpected way.

What the hell is it?

The object is cool from a scientific perspective.  Avi Loeb is doing Avi Loeb things to get more attention.

Corbell said the "alien craft" story was a lie.  3IAtlas just happens to be conveniently timed to seem like it's the culprit.

When it doesn't alter course or slow down, it'll just be another thing for space nerds to oooh and ahhh about.
Everything posted above is factual. Maybe.

Isn't that the magic date floating around the UAP/UFO world?

Lue Elizondo has stated that "something" is coming and it's what is driving disclosure.

If the approaching craft is a lie, what is the supposed truth? What's being concealed that is more threatening or terrifying than an alien craft?

Yeah Rogan conflated 2 UFO things and now people are doing the same thing. This new Atlas object plus what people have been saying for a couple years now:

    • Coulthart is on record as saying ‘27 is significant for disclosure and that we’re “running out of time”.

    • Corbell has said ‘27 is when we’ll get a UFO incident that will be a government-orchestrated lie.

    • 2027 is also allegedly when AI will become fully sentient.

With the information coming out and the more people giving their experiences, it's only a matter of time until critical mass of some sort is reached for some project, and then those that control info will try to shovel as many bad secrets as they can into that and then turn it into a lie because they intentionally added lots of disinfo with the stuff other people included earlier.

I like to only pay attention to primary sources and more are becoming available, though some of their experiences stress credibility, they really bake your noodle.

S/N Ratio in his thread isn't so bad because it's all just his posts.   I think if there started to be discussion within his thread it would fly off the rails in the same manner as all other GD threads on "forbidden knowledge" where everybody knows the answer and nobody can talk about it and they're adamant about that. The problem with that is a whole bunch get lost due to 6 new posts a day with a title changed for a couple hours.

If only he had an index to jump to various posts on a single subject or something.  *cough*

I think it’s interesting that this is only the third known interstellar object to have passed through or solar system, and all three have been within less than a decade. Makes me wonder if our solar system is entering a particularly crowded area of the galaxy, and maybe there’s something to those 12,000 year cycles.

I don’t believe Oumuamua or 3IAtlas are alien technology.

Index would be a bitch as it's pretty random .

I do put the title and usually a summary/timeline in each if available.

A lot more are going to be identified by the Vera Rubin telescope over the coming years.

If it comes to it, just message a GD Mod and have the thread moved here then we can crowd source the indexing without the peanut gallery spamming 6 pages of BS for each new index entry.  It's sad to be able to predict that.

I really liked the ones you posted above ancient civilizations found in area other than the mainstream known spots, some really cool stuff in that three, jut no clue where to look.

Maybe simple like "Archeology" "UAP / Aliens" "Strange things about Earth (little known locations/events/effects/etc)"  "Strange things in math and science".

Could make an index thread in this thread/forum and point to that one, but that one might drop to archive if not posted to in a month, if it's moved here.  Moving your thread to this forum and I could toggle it to not archive but you could also get that done by messaging a GD mod to switch it to no archive (unless that was already done), like Guns762, there's o much turnover their don't know ll their names anymore.

Nah man.  It says in the photo description that they were tracking the comet with the camera so the streaks are stationary background stars.

Would be extra wow factor if it really did have a fleet of smaller objects around it though.

Harvard astrophysicist Professor Avi Loeb claims a 0.005% chance that 3AT is a natural object and more likely artificial. Tulsa Gabbard affirms her belief in NHI and UFO's and hints that she has big news that will be released at a later date. She reports this with a forced smile.

Of course, 3I/ATLAS is no ordinary comet. Discovered on July 1, 2025 by the Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System (ATLAS), 3I/ATLAS is the fastest comet ever seen. Racing in-system at 130,000 mph (209,000 kph), it is hurtling through space so fast that it will escape the sun's gravitational grasp. Its origin is somewhere beyond the solar system, in interstellar space where it has traveled for aeons, being sped up by gravitational slingshots every time it encounters a star. As a result, 3I/ATLAS is just passing through, and will gain another slingshot from our sun to send it on its way back into interstellar space, never to be seen again.

"No one knows where the comet came from," said David Jewitt of the University of California, Los Angeles in a statement. Jewitt was the science lead on the Hubble observations of 3I/ATLAS. "It's like glimpsing a rifle bullet for a thousandth of a second. You can't project that back with any accuracy to figure out where it started on its path."

Would remain solid, at 1/4 the distance to object is about where Mars is.  This object is about half the distance to the sun (far edge of our asteroid belt if it were in our solar system) the water would be ice, average temp around 150°K or -190°F unless there's something to catch and focus sunlight onto a very small area........

Or it hits a small grain (0.1 grams) of dust at 58 km/s which would generate around 164K joules (124K ft-lbs) which should sublimate some of the material straight into gas.

Just depends if it was going through a semi-dense area of the solar system and depends on how much water is venting if it is at all.

Good point, I wish they would give a bit more information. So I went and asked the latest search engine and your idea would work, I was thinking only liquid water would show in the OH spectrum with IR spectroscopy:

Frozen Water Spectral Scan

Yes, frozen water shows up on an OH (hydroxyl) spectral scan, but the detection is indirect and relies on the presence of water (H₂O) and its vibrational modes. Water molecules, whether in liquid or solid (ice) form, exhibit characteristic absorption features in the infrared spectrum due to the vibrations of their O-H bonds.
In the near-infrared region, water ice has distinct absorption bands, particularly around 1.25 µm and 1.5 µm, which are key indicators for its presence. These spectral signatures are sensitive to the molecular structure and hydrogen bonding within the ice, and they can be used to identify water ice particles even in complex environments like the Moon's shadowed regions. The vibrational spectrum of water, including ice, is complex and influenced by hydrogen bonding, which shifts the absorption bands compared to isolated molecules. Therefore, while the scan detects the O-H bond vibrations, the resulting spectral features are specific to the state (solid or liquid) and structure of the water, allowing scientists to distinguish frozen water from other materials.

Sorta.  They're saying it's way brighter than it should be, based on its orientation and distance from the sun.

It could just be highly reflective and/or ejecting icy particles that are reflecting sunlight.

The more out-there theory is that it's producing its own light from the nucleus, which would be highly unusual and would mean the object itself is much smaller than estimated and we're mostly seeing a "cloud" around it that's being illuminated by the core.  There aren't many known natural ways for this to be the case.

Regardless, this object keeps getting more and more interesting.

More interesting based on one opinion, Avi Loeb's. Not saying he's wrong, or that anything he claims is impossible, but extraordinary claims and all that.

If it puts on the brakes and stops in orbit somewhere, pay attention. If it doesn't, it's a comet/extrasolar rock/ice mix popping on by. But, of course, be ready for the next one, which will be an alien spacecraft.

It's almost like I'm watching people like Loeb start the Seventh Day Adventists over again in the 1800's.

We keep hearing words like Imminent and Short on Time. Now this unusual thing shows up. My gut says there is a connection.

Revelation 12
New International Version
The Woman and the Dragon

12 A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. 2 She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth. 3 Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on its heads. 4 Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born. 5 She gave birth to a son, a male child, who “will rule all the nations with an iron scepter.”[a] And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne. 6 The woman fled into the wilderness to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days.

7 Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. 8 But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. 9 The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.

10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:

“Now have come the salvation and the power
and the kingdom of our God,
and the authority of his Messiah.
For the accuser of our brothers and sisters,
who accuses them before our God day and night,
   has been hurled down.
11 They triumphed over him
by the blood of the Lamb
   and by the word of their testimony;
they did not love their lives so much
   as to shrink from death.
12 Therefore rejoice, you heavens
and you who dwell in them!
But woe to the earth and the sea,
because the devil has gone down to you!
He is filled with fury,
because he knows that his time is short.”
13 When the dragon saw that he had been hurled to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child. 14 The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle, so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the wilderness, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time, out of the serpent’s reach. 15 Then from his mouth the serpent spewed water like a river, to overtake the woman and sweep her away with the torrent. 16 But the earth helped the woman by opening its mouth and swallowing the river that the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. 17 Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring—those who keep God’s commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus.

Strong disagree.  Yes, Avi is being sensational but this object is still fascinating from a scientific perspective.  This is only the third interstellar object ever observed and it is displaying properties that challenge what scientists believe about comets/asteroids.

It's extremely interesting even if it's just a chunk of rock.

For sure. And even if this has been happening forever and we only just got the technology to figure it out*, it is indeed interesting.

*the parallel here of synthetic apterture radar and sighting other objects is not lost on me.

THE BACKWARD TAIL OF COMET 3I/ATLAS: Last month, when astronomers used the Hubble Space Telescope to photograph 3I/ATLAS, they had a "Eureka!" moment. The mysterious interstellar visitor had a fuzzy atmosphere and a growing tail. Clearly, it was a comet.

However, something was not quite right. Take a look, and see if you can spot the problem:

The tail of 3I/ATLAS points almost straight toward the sun. Normally, comet dust tails are pushed away from the sun by radiation pressure. 3I/ATLAS is doing the opposite—it's backwards.

Why? Researchers led by David Jewitt of UCLA believe they have an explanation: "It is due to the preferential sublimation of ice on the hot day side of the nucleus and the near absence of sublimation on the night side," they wrote in a paper reporting the observations.

In other words, 3I/ATLAS *is* a comet, but only the sun-heated side is producing lots of dust. The emerging dust particles are too big for radiation pressure to bend them back into an ordinary tail.

This is unusual, but not unheard of. Solar system comets have been known to produce sunward fans or jets, typically from localized "hot spots" on their rotating nuclei. What makes 3I/ATLAS different is the dominance of its sunward plume, dwarfing a barely visible anti-solar tail behind it.

If 3I/ATLAS is indeed a comet, it may have been wandering through the galaxy for longer than our Solar System has existed. Billions of years of cosmic ray bombardment will have altered its surface--knocking hydrogen atoms out while heavier molecules remained behind. This process could create a hardened crust that might not sputter dust and gas like fresher comets from the Solar System.

Researchers will be very interested to see how the tail of 3I/ATLAS evolves as it approaches the sun for a close encounter in October 2025. Will it remain backward? Or will the crust crumble and allow smaller particles to escape, forming a more normal anti-solar tail?

Of course, if it is a spaceship as Harvard professor Avi Loeb suggests, something completely different may occur. Either way, stay tuned.

Oh, I'm not saying it's not interesting. It's fascinating, and I'll be following the news.

I'm saying if it doesn't alter course, slow down, or do something else weird...it's not a spaceship. It's a really cool rock.

There are estimated to be trillions of objects over 1km, and billions over 20km in out own Oort Cloud. That doesn't take into account the hundreds of thousands of 100km+ objects in the Kuiper Belt.

In one, single, solitary solar system. These things could get flung out at crazy velocities by passing stars, close encounters with planets, and bad run into the inner solar system, etc. etc. etc.

The amount of objects cruising around out in space is literally astronomical. We can finally see them as they pass by. Cool.

I'll keep waiting for some odd behavior, thanks.

Unless it's being posited that this is some form of probe passing though the solar system, yet again, before the "major event" that will come after.

It's a rock/iceball/combo of the two, for the reasons I put forth previously.

When it slows down and drops into orbit around some body in our solar system, instead of streaking through at a ridiculous velocity, I'll happily eat my words, with gusto. I want to believe.

Otherwise, I'll wait for the next Avi Loeb "spaceship."
