I can attest that the Telluride is kicking the Palisade's ass in sales, at least around here.
No stock at the Kia dealership and a 10K markup. |

I'm sure I'll get hate but I gave a good bit of guns + ammo to an auction house to sell, as they're getting obscene prices.
Might roll that $$$$ into a Kia :D LOVE my Forte, eyeing a Forte Gt or something similar. |

If the K5 had been released before the new Sonata Id probably be driving that instead .
I like the K5 but still like my Sonatas looks more so happy how that worked out anyways. |

Just put together a nice Telluride on the website, wasn't hard to hit 46K quickly. Let's add 9% sales tax so we're at 50K. at 0% financing, if available, that's a monthly payment of 833.00
That's my mortgage payment. |

I guess they didn't factor in the 300,000 engines they have to recall yet.

We bought a 2020 Optima back in July. Mechanically, it's been rock solid. There were a couple little electronic gremlins, but the dealership got those taken care of for us (fuel level sender, blindspots warning sensor). Overall, my wife and I both love the car.

View Quote Most of those issues were on 30k and lower vins anyway We were brutally unprepared for the Telluride success, Key only estimated that they would sell about 25000 of them in the 1st year, Instead we sold 60k It was so bad that we ran out of parts to even build them and had to have a factory in Korea help make parts We retooled a fair portion of the Georgia plant just to make telluride parts but still we are playing catch up I don't know when we will actually be able to catch up availability is still Limited, It's been so limited for so long that is actually damaged our reputation. It was a case of being too conservative With sales estimationsThat it's fucked us over |

I see tellurides EVERYWHERE. The interior quality seemed to be great for a kia.
No idea about mechanical quality. |

The local dealer is advertising very aggressively and looking at the absolute junk in their trade in/going to the auction lot It's apparent that they really will get anyone in a new Kia regardless of credit score. I would think the Telluride alone would have made 2020 their most profitable year, and deservedly so. Genesis is shaping up as well.

The dealership experience has been a shit show for me. Been to 3 dealerships.
Dealership 1: Only 2 sales guys working. 3 sales mangers hiding the the glass office. I asked if one of them could give me a test drive and was told no. Couldn't even get them to unlock a car for me. Left after waiting 30 minutes. They had a few Tellurides that were marked up between 5 to 10K over MSRP. They even had a new Sorento with a mark up. Dealership 2: Guy was higher than shit....reeked of pot. Wanted to test drive the Sorento EX or SX and Telluride. No Tellurides and all the Sorentos were the LX or S model. One of the sales managers who was off took home the only SX Sorento they had. Dealership 3: We have to run your credit before you can test drive a Telluride. Told them no need, I am paying cash. They still wanted to run it. After going back in forth about this for a few minutes they tell me they don't have any in stock. They do however have the Sorento EX and SX in stock. They guy ask me what color I want to drive. Told him it does not matter, just make sure it has the 2.5L Turbo motor. He comes back with a LX which does not have the turbo. He comes back again with S, which again does not have a turbo. He comes back a third time with a Sportage. I finally asked him if he was fucking with me. Finally got to test drive an EX Sorento. They are nice. The wife wants one or a Telluride if we can ever test drive one of those. Wont be buying from this dealership. Kia placed 30th out of 32 for dealership experience.....now I know why. |

My wife loves her 2019 Sportage. The EPA specs says 30 mpg on the highway, but I have gotten 32 mpg. Decent power also, it is like a sports car compared to my under powered Jeep
