Great performer and really good guitarist that has been overlooked by a lot of people. Met him once in SF. A good friend of mine was his PA for around 10 years and was very close with him. He still lives in paisley park.

I wish I'd seen him live when he was live.  Great talent, esp. in the early years.

Some friends saw him when he opened for the Rolling Stones.  He was booed.

I have Purple Rain on vinyl.  Yeah, that's how old I am.

Not a fan, but Prince was a very underrated guitarist.

Prince didn’t do drugs. Didn’t even allow anyone in his camp to use them. He ran a tight camp. Also was super vegan and wouldn’t hire anyone that wasn’t. No alchohol, no drugs, no meat eaters. He ran a tight ship.

He died of an overdose, dude.

Dude was practically a musical savant. He could play anything.
Too bad his candle burned out so fast.

True but trutt be known he died of an overdose of prescription drugs that he was over prescribed. Accidentally or not.

Saw him back in 88.  Not really my bag but I'm glad I went.  Hell of a show and I've never seen the Roseland packed with so much top self ass.

Prince : housequake (movie version)

Been dusting off some of this stuff on vinyl lately. Love the live shows with the horns, Sheila E, Dr. Fink, and the Cat!

I fucking love me some prince. Both my parents listened to prince growing up.  When I was 13ish (97/98) I rediscovered all their old records. Gap band, Prince, Rick James, Pfunk, etc etc. My young ass was blown away.

If you are a prince fan and have not heard this for some reason, listen to it. The album is amazing.  His estate released it shortly after he passed.

I saw that tour at the L.A. Coliseum.... I recall Robin Trower was on the ticket too. Nobody was ready for Prince at that time, or on that ticket.

As he gained in popularity, his talents as a guitarist became apparent. The man had a lot of talent.
