One of my hobbies with these films is trying to listen to the radio/tv reports of how things are progressing throughout the world.

View Quote In the re-make, the protagonist hears on her radio: This is the Emergency Broadcast System for the greater Milwaukee area. The following is information for local evacuation centers. If you live in Waukesha County... 22 Robin Lane. If you live in Southern Milwaukee County, there's a shelter... 1353 Henderson Road.(doesn't exist) If there is no activity where you live, stay inside and lock all doors. If you live in Jefferson County... If you live in Racine County, there is no information available at this time. Please stay inside and lock all doors and windows. Miller Park is no longer considered a safe haven. Please avoid the stadium and proceed to other locations. Meanwhile, civil unrest is still being reported in the area of The River Walk. (The 'river walk' is like 100 yards long) There are unconfirmed reports that several military personnel... The following locations are still listed on The Milwaukee Emergency Safe Haven list. |

that is actually a fan edit made from all the different official releases of the film in the US and Europe
there is no way to buy that version on a Bluray/DVD etc whoever did that edit did a great job supposedly soon an extended cut ( not that one) restored to 4K is going to be released in the US. It's already out in Europe |

My parents sent me out of the room when I was a little kid so they could watch this. Like I was probably only 4-5 or so,so the movie would have only been a couple years old or so.
I snuck in a couple times for a minute or two but enough stuck with me that probably close to 15 or so years later I mention remembering some movie with zombies and a mall and she knew exactly what I was talking about. Rented it as soon as I had a chance and yep that was it. |

Quoted: I always wanted one of those. They were kinda pieces of junk. I had the A2 styled version, got it for Christmas as my first gun when I was around 14-15. It was fairly unreliable, both the bolt and firing pin were soft metal - firing pin would peen and cause light strikes, the last round bolt hold open was apparently harder than the area of the bolt that it would catch, so it rounded that surface of and stopped working pretty early on. I could never find any spare mags back in the days before the internet too... But man did it look cool and I loved it, endless bricks of cheap .22lr through it plinking, albeit with lots of stoppages. |

The remake in 2004 was one of the better remakes. Sarah Polley is good. And the pregnant chick who turned along with her baby was next level.

Mine is fairly reliable with CCI Stingers, but rimfires and reliability are not really a thing in general. Mags are a pain. I have two. Parts are long dried up (though I think there's a guy that makes firing pins), so you're mostly looking for a gun to cannibalize if you need parts. Mine was my dad's - he's still alive, he just gave it to me years ago - and it's probably the first gun I ever fired. My memory's a little fuzzy these days, but it's either this or his Plainfield M1 Carbine (which I also have). |
