I have to say i used to hate curling. Every olympics I watch more and more of it and I actually kinda like it now.

Best sport to watch during the Winter Olympics. That's some Bob Ross level entertainment for me.

we made an Olympic sport out of chicks scrubbing the floor with brooms?
Does Gloria Allred know about this? MUH PATRIARCHY!!!!1!!1 |

Was going to comment how curling is a retarded "sport" that only canucks could have dreamt up. Then I saw OP's pics
WTF I like curling now. |

Curling would be a whole lot cooler if instead of a rock sliding on ice it was a big fat house cat sliding across linoleum. If that was the case I'd be an Olympic level athlete.

Have you ever noticed how the handle on the rock so closely resembles that of a clothes iron or a pot lid?

There is a curling place in town I have wanted to try, they do an introductory class for $20 I think. I'll get around to it some time.

I often refer to it as my favorite sport. Once it's on, I can't stop watching. Pretty much only applies to women's curling for some reason.

Okay, I'll bite. What are the brooms for? View Quote Unlike bowling balls, the rocks are perfectly balanced around the axis or rotation. So the thrower uses weight (speed) and spin to get the stone to end up where they want it to go. The sweeper(s) can affect the speed and spin by sweeping the ice ahead of the stone. Notice how they can sweep to one side of the stone, or directly in front of it. This lets them affect the spin or the speed differentially. |

I, as others have said, hated curling at first.
Now curling (women only please) is right up there with my favorites , along with biathlon (duh), and anything with people going down a hill. Still waiting for sledding in the Olympics. |

I can think of many ways to take full advantage of such flexibility.

How the fuck is this even a sport? What retard allowed this to be televised, and then allowed it to be apart of the same stage as the best athletes on the planet. Fuck this world and may God have mercy on your souls.

It's about as much of a sport as synchronized swimming. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I would love to try it. But there isn't a sheet of ice within 150 miles of me.

Did curling twice in college, pretty fun. Part of my Canadian Studies class.

If you like to watch grass grow, it's not that bad, I will be watching.
