Eric and Lori Harmon, both 36, have been charged with indecent exposure for allegedly engaging in amorous activities inside a glass gondola at the SkyWheel: a 187-foot-tall observation wheel that is one of the largest attractions of its kind in North America. Police launched an investigation into the Harmon couple on January 12, after discovering videos online they say are depicting the two having sex in public. According to court records cited by Myrtle Beach Sun News, one video from January 2 shows Eric and Lori Harmon having sex inside one of SkyWheel's 42 glass gondolas in full view of the public. Another video that was discovered on a porn site is said to show the duo exposing themselves, having sexual intercourse in a community pool in Horry County, S.C., and performing other lewd acts last month. During the incident in the pool, Lori also allegedly urinated on two vending machines. In another instance that was said to have occurred in December in Murrells Inlet, the Harmons allegedly shot video that showed the wife exposing herself and urinating inside a public elevator. Lori now faces three counts of indecent exposure, two counts of participation in preparation of obscene material, and malicious injury to personal property. They are Class A misdemeanors. I don't know how the statute is written, but it would seem that the spirit of the law is to punish lewd behavior that actually is exposed to the public.
