Is made by Highline Warren LLC it says on the box. Is good? Is good as Mobil 1? Is significantly less $.

I’ve used it in the wife’s car for several years. It works fine. I will continue to use it in her car. I wish they offered it in quarts instead of only 5 qt. jugs.

I think Foxtrot has mentioned in the past that it's pretty good oil.
|
|
I almost picked up some boxes yesterday but Mobil 1 was on sale so…

Does it meet your car specs then go to the yes box. Would your engine go 200k miles with no oil related failure by doing regular oil changes as compared to M1? I would say yes.
If you keep your oil levels correct and change on time.... Now me personally I use QS FS 10/30 so what do I know. |
|
I always look for the API seal on oil I'm not familiar with.

It has the starburst one on top, not sure about the triangular one on bottom. IIRC each car maker also has its own requirements, I didn't see it for any car maker. |

It's pretty much the same as Supertech.
Think it's made by Warren. |

View Quote Very interesting & informative, thank you! Long story short, this guy liked it and the test results support his opinion. FWIW the price has gone up to $3.89/qt. ($38.99 for two, 5 gal. jugs.) The regular Costco price for Mobil 1 is about $35 for 6 qts. which is $5.83/qt. |

I've been using it exclusively for the last so many years.
Good stuff for the price. I change my oil around 5-6k miles though on all my vehicles. Can't speak for how it lasts past that. |

Just landed… so it will be a minute.
Ironically having dinner with a major oil company tonight. |

Warren oil company makes good stuff. I use a ton of it in our shop on the heavy vehicles.
It’s quality oil. |
|
When they start making 0w15 I'll buy it.
My Rav4 requires 0w16 which is retarded, I just put 0w15 in it. Maybe I'll mix a couple teaspoons of 0w20 to get a 0w16 mix. |
|
My FIL uses it.
He has a 99 Ford Explorer with over 300k miles. Pretty impressive, he's really into the diagnosing thing where he hooks up oscilloscope leads to his laptop and tests parts and stuff. Not my cup of tea, but it's impressive. |

Their stuff meets spec. Generally fairly decent for the price. Fairly similar blends to my house brand.
I’m personally not too hot on their products because of some bad blood between the family who started that company and mine. They had some unsavory business practices that didn’t sit well with my family. It is what it is. But I won’t say they make a bad product right now. Plus they were purchased by Highline auto group now. So they’re just a venture capital company at this point. However, they use the same base oils I do, in our full synthetics. They use a good additive company generally in their PCEOs from what I’ve seen. I’ve never seen a sample that is “bad” from them. So there’s that. |

For a "regular" daily driven car (Honda, Ford, Infiniti, stuff like that), it's absolutely suitable and perfectly fine to use. They make the oil for Amazon, Walmart, and Costco (maybe others). If you have a car that calls for a specific specification, and "exotic" car, or run a racing car that you actually race, there are proper or other/better oils out there for you. I use the Kirkland oil in my and my wife's cars, my dad uses it in their cars, and friend uses it in his. Never an issue. |

It’s just as good because it didn’t disappear from his engine, and flows well when so cold you’d want a block heater. What about analyzing the oil after 10,000 miles or 5,000 miles to see if the oil has broken down and lost all its protective properties? Nah….throw it in the freezer and pour it down a hill. |

make sure you either put Prolong or Zmax in the oil too.
I used to use Lucas then swithced to Prolong |

I used to buy the two-1 gallon containers of Kirkland Brand 5w30. Now they don’t offer it. The two pack now has one container of 5w30 and either a 0w20 or 5w20. I don’t use either one of those. You can’t buy 5w30 by itself anymore.
