Maybe I'm doing this wrong, but the flesh coloring reminds me of a female reproductive system, wit the Fallopian tubes coming down to wrap around at the bottom half.  Top half, nothing instantly gelling or "Hey, that looks like! moment".  Everybody sees what they want and an like it for the pretty colors.

Are you going to be doing prints of any of these?  I've got a wall that's too 90s. that needs a new thing but I haven't found it yet.

I poured/thrown paint.  It looks like that or whatever you see.   Pink is easy to see as flesh.

However, if it IS a reproductive system, it will produce Helen of Troy.

Speaking of Gods...   Both Troy and Noah had notes in Cuniform, the instructions on how to build the Ark in Old Testament history, and for the homes of the Greek Gods (Though there were 2 restarts in the OT).  Both languages (Hebrew and Greek) didn't adapt directly from Cuniform, but took detours through Phoenician language and alphabets for a while, then track lost though post flood biblical Greek and Biblical Hebrew again sort of jived.   The restart was flood from Zeus - ended by The Giant Tree of Norse Yggdrasil and the land a dove brought back to the Ark (exact species of tree undefined), meanwhile, Oriental faiths have "The Great Tree" ending the flood as well.

Yet that's all just make believe.  None of these existed and I find it fascinating and your imagery ties them together in a strange way with some of the bits that dance glancing through other civilizations and forgotten languages, I have to trust a lot of translations for most and am a bit rusty with Biblical Greek and Hebrew (way different than modern of either).

Still, how you touch the various gods and myths together similar to Sunday School cartoons and coloring books is fascinating.    The other cool thing I think you could get some inspiration from is Pompeii, their bath houses (happy ending sorts), had pictures of the various positions around the upper edge of the lobby so the often illiterate sailors that docked for a bit could get what they desired.  So crazy to see walk through videos of Pompeii and how similar it is to the preserved Greek sites as well as others around the Mediterranean though not quite as thoroughly preserved.

A sudden blow: the great wings beating still
Above the staggering girl, her thighs caressed
By the dark webs, her nape caught in his bill,
He holds her helpless breast upon his breast.

How can those terrified vague fingers push
The feathered glory from her loosening thighs?
And how can body, laid in that white rush,
But feel the strange heart beating where it lies?

A shudder in the loins engenders there
The broken wall, the burning roof and tower
And Agamemnon dead.
                                 Being so caught up,
So mastered by the brute blood of the air,
Did she put on his knowledge with his power
Before the indifferent beak could let her drop?

This should really be made a male and dedicated to DKProf. Seriously.

You remind me of my best friend, who majored in art. He did one with a similar feel and similar textures back in 1988 or 89. It was a lot of fleshy tones with brass slinking, or snaking through the fleshy tones, from a far point on the horizon to the front.

He was struggling with whether or not to ask his girlfriend, who he'd gotten pregnant, to marry him. That's what came out of his mind. He  did ask her, and they're still married today. He had / has a weird brain, lol, but I do too, I'm a musician with a minor in art, sort of. I was majoring in music at the same university he was majoring in art at.

I like your paintings. If I can find a photo of that painting I'm talking about I'll post it or send it in messenger to you. I think it'll speak to you.

I took the above picture and asked ChatGPT to make the pink look “greasy.”

What do you think?:

I like the added highlights on the pink to make it look smooth and wet/greasy.   I think that looks good because you can use those white highlights to further hint at shape and form.  I would really like for lighter shades of pink to surround a limited amount of pure white if wanting the wet look, but if going for hinting at shape then just  really light shades of the fleshy color you have in place of the white so it doesn't look wet but adds contour.

The rest of it not really, seems the AI caught on to the real feathers and after the fleshy areas, it went whole hot trying to make everything Photorealistic or at least try for something, example planets/galaxy/stars in the dark areas.

Overall, I like the idea there, you haven't done much to hint on form/contour beyond contour shadows, pulling highlights to both hint at texture and moistness (is that a real word?) as well as shape on the top instead of approx thickness and height from background by drop shadow. Keep a mellow version of the greasy fleshy colored stuff, just white highlights mainly, and leave the rest, it kind of messed up your real cool feathers.

Looks good, now you are at at spot where the entire painting is lightened.

You can super easily force somebody's eye to a particular spot in the painting by adding black.  You have white and down to darker midtones but no real dark.   Right now I see the swan beak between shoulder blades.

The teachers always say never use black, but when a painting is nearly completed and a dark and light focal point isn't there, it need to happen anyway.   I think the "no black" rule was to prevent works from going to brownish black mud too early in the process.  I like having the full gamut of colors personally but you may be different.   I like how you put that dark red on one of the "bulbous thingies" that makes it look like it got cut, that's pretty cool use of the depth you an do now that you have a lot of light tones to mess with heads if you're doing that.

It's looking great but needs something, though I don't know what, ask AI to make it more Van Gogh/Starry Night or something different entirely.

Could leave most all the edges in the darker midtones area to help the centerpiece be pushed "up" from the canvas with the highlights, but I'll wait and see.

The biggest reason real media art is worse than pen and in, paint and canvas, colored pencil on rough paper , etc is that here is no undo button, and the only way you have to know what will happen if you added some color here or there how i would change the whole painting.   Then there's no Undo.  It kind of shows how the people who took art classes in college weren't wasting their lives, just honing their ability to spot errors.  Grated, I went for EE but took a ton of meal and wood working shop and all the art classes I could pack in since they were all in the same building, across the street from the engineering building.

Hard to tell, but the blue in the lower part is water and the green is grass -in keeping with the myth and the location (the banks of the Eurotas River in Sparta).

I will make the water more obvious and have the wing create a splash into the lower left corner

In that case, add waves a bit while filling the lower left corner (In the landscape/horizontal view above) with nothing to severe all of it just hinting at what my be instead of telling viewer what it is.  You're really good at that.  Need to start with some hints somewhere though.

Jackson Pollack would slap you for that.  He sold paintings where the paint was still wet, (Well, could press fingernail into thick paint) but I guess you aren't hand to mouth painting.   All the great writers and painters and sculptors only get paid attention and famous for something they did long after they die.

Thanks.

I have abandoned drawing.

I’m done with it.  No more sketches or drawings or plans.  No experiments or little paintings, either.

I conceive the work, then plan the first move.  Then go!

Even a subtle edging of darker (not black, but much darker pink or yellow (traditionally by mixing with compliment, with your painting stile, wing it. ))

The black along the "apparent body parts" really made them pop out after the whites were added in.  Full range achieved and only touch ups but it's an amazing mixed media work by far.

The pineapple hand grenade you're doing great except for where the panels fall apart, how far are you going to show them protruding?  That's where the 9 piece chalk pastel kits are decent for "value study" by super quick getting shape of main then at the end white chalk and black for shadows and maybe smear it.  So 10 minutes down on where your little value paper about 4x6 or 8x14 based on your odd aspect ratios could be drawn prior to the AI enhancement and it would have told you the same thing.    However, you can ask the AI how to improve it in far less than 10 minutes.
How much for the hand grenade?   Needs a serial number on the spoon.

WW II version?

External fragmenation panels, (by 3D Rendering)

Modern "baseball" M67 fragmentation grenade, internal fragmentation (3D Rendering)

The whole series of US:

Two of each shade, I pretty much use up the white and middle gray first (2 sticks of each color), far two easy to get too dark so the white pops back up then you smudge your finger and need to tone it down then re-add the white.  I feel your pain, I really do.   But it works excellent to make an awesome work of art into an amazing genius work of art.  Only get "Chalk Pastels", Oil pastels need more cleanup than a compressed air duster.  They're like really soft wax crayons instead of dry chalk and behave differently, bright side - no dust.  down side - no dust.  Bright side - can look like a painting with infinite detail using oil pastels while chalk pastels are mostly limited to value sketches to glance at something and truly observe it and mark the shades as seen instead of what memory tells them they saw.   Look in detail at a grenade for reference and look at light and just sketch out the gray, not the 3hites and no black outlines, just the mid-tones, then from another angle, fit 4 of those on a piece of printer paper and your mind observed enough and should easily jump to no helper painting.

And the chalks for keeping most of your work in the gray range instead of mostly black or mostly white when underestimating the power of pure white or pure black:
