Chris Cornell’s Guns N’ Roses cover dropped this afternoon.
One of rock’s best frontmen, IMO. He would’ve been 56 today. Chris Cornell - Patience (Official Video) |

Such a talent. Such a loss.
Did they ever say why he and later Chester killed themselves? |
|
Awesome cover, love some Chris Cornell. Vid is pretty sad with all the family pics and such...

I was never a Soundgarden fan but Cornell had some pipes and knew how to use them.

|
That repetitive drum roll is annoying as crap.
Vocals are spot on. |

There are references to suicide all throughout his lyrics with Soundgarden, Audioslave and his solo albums. |

His voice was indeed a gift. Two of my favorite songs from Soundgarden are on their 1989 album Louder Than Love.

DAMN!
That man had one hell of a voice. He is missed. My twenties are full of memories with his voice in the background. |
|
Thanks for sharing that op, his voice is so awesome. Brings me back to high school in 90s, best time of my life.

View Quote Temple of the dog has been my favorite album sense it came out in the early 90s, got laid many times to those tunes. Good times, and memories. |

Man that hits hard. The song sounds a bit odd with a drum track, but still.. amazing.
He's one of the few artists I miss hearing new work on a regular basis. |
|
My initial impression is who ever mixed that needs to find another job.
But I'm on a laptop and don't have headphones. |

Heard a Bit today on Stern show . Pretty good . Didn't realize he would have been 56

Subbed. Keep posting guys, these are great vids to view later on even.

“No one sings like you anymore”
Definitely one of the best voices in Rock. So glad I had the opportunity to see Soundgarden live several times over the years. |

This thread is friggin awesome!

I drove for him once. He had a real shitty attitude. That doesn't stop me from loving his music, though.

Wow.
Just... wow. Absolutely amazing cover (Axl's ego will never allow him to follow Trent Reznors lead and "give" that song to the guy who did it better). Really, REALLY well done video too. Haunting, even. Dude was an incredible talent. As is, unfortunately, far too often the case - such talent had some serious demons. RIP. Maybe a morbid curiosity, but it's actually really cool to have such awesome music released posthumously. |

Losing him and Chester Bennington back to back is honestly the only time celebrity deaths have really upset me.
Both of those guys were huge parts of and influences on the music I listened to growing up. |
|
When Cornell comes up, I like to post this.
His last gig was in May 2017 at the Fox Theater in Detroit. He returned to his hotel room at the MGM Grand, and hung himself. His wife believes it was the Ativan anti-depressant giving him suicidal thoughts. He had 7 different drugs in his system at the time. A mere 4 days later, Nora Jones came to play at the Fox Theater. She played this tribute, and it's pretty damn good. Not much time to practice. Norah Jones – Black Hole Sun (Detroit Fox Theatre 5.23.17) |

Love CC.
Not a huge fan of how this was mixed, a little too slick with the drum track and the synth. Would’ve loved to hear this just with him and his guitar |
|
|
He did a good job but still nowhere near as good as the original. He left us far too soon either way.
