China reverses its “one child only” policy a while back, because it’s population is now shrinking (and no one wants to move to China
 ).It’s latest move is to discourage all the abortions - which is ironic because China once forced abortions (and involuntary sterilization) on women who were pregnant with a second child (you don’t want to investigate all the forced abortions; it was a true horror and crime against humanity). https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/china-abortion-birthrate/2022/08/16/id/1083346/ Does anyone remember the GD post from a month or two back, about China lying and under-reporting their census results? That “leak” is
 questionable source but China has been shrinking since at least 2018. Problem is Japan and South Korea have been shrinking since the 1990s and the USA since 2009. They have a bigger baseline than we do or anyone else in Asia but India to work with. So far none of the policies to encourage having more kids have worked in Taiwan, South Korea, Japan or 87% of countries so far. Which is why Elon Musk made those announcements this year.

China enacted a three child policy recently, it's everybody's patriotic duty to have kids yadda yadda. But that's after they enacted a two child policy in 2015 that completely failed, it didn't move the needle at all. And that was before they entered a serious economic crisis that many see as the end of the good old days for the Chinese.

That slow boat has already sailed. They are probably below 1.3B now, and losing something on the order 10M (and accelerating) each year. Chinese can't afford to house kids in the cities, plus couples have to take in old, sick parents and grandparents, which busts their budget and eats up available room. Let's not forget they generally killed off the women babies, so not so many baby making machines.
Best Guess is they fall bellow 1B by 2050, and maybe much sooner. |

This is why I hate the Malthusian Club of Rome/WEF/technocrat globalist assholes wrecking the world now.
As nations get richer, their populations dwindle, and they put higher emphasis on environmental concerns as they develop and get richer. A totalitarian oligarchic anti-human depopulation, de-carbonization, surveillance control system isn't needed. Lower population and lower pollution will happen all on its own by peoples' choices and preferences, as long as people have the economic and political freedom to develop prosperous societies. But these greedy idiots think the world they rightly own won't survive unless they take control of it and destroy western civilization. |
