Have you ever used CAD?
If not, trying to learn something, regardless of cost, is going to be a bit more difficult than using paper and a calculator. I've been using CAD software since '94. Watching people step into it can sometimes be painful. If your trig is slow, this will help. |

If all you need it to do is calculate some angles and distances a simple triangle calculator might be good enough for you?
https://www.calculator.net/triangle-calculator.html Just type in your 3 known lengths and or combination of angles and lengths (90 deg corner and two known sides example) and it will give you the missing numbers. |

The learning curve for any CAD, even the "user friendly" kinds, is why it took me so, so, SO long to take the plunge. I still didn't go all the way to the big programs, but I had to eventually move to CAD for landscape design, and of course the first image paid for the program. But taking two weeks to figure out how to draw three boxes is pretty much how painful it was. I'm not trying to discourage OP, but just sayin that I've never seen a program that has hardly any intuitive capability built in, so plan some "fussing and cussing" hours into the design process. |
