Whilst the whole direction smacks of true tyranny and is an insidious abuse of its citizens - remembering the government is of the people, by the people for the people.
Perhaps what is more insidious is the remarkable banning of airsoft - this is pure social engineering of the highest order. Consider this, infinitely more people get injured each year playing ice hockey. Therefore logic dictates ban ice hockey. On the world stage, Trudeau is openly mocked - largely because he been (a) shown to be corrupt (SNC Lavalin) (b) an abuser of power, in office against one of his own ministers (c) a serial blathering panderer, virtue signaller and hypocrite. Over many years Canada has become progressively irrelevant - contributing little other than empty rhetoric. Its a very shallow pond with a very shallow and naive view of the world and it can be like this because the USA takes care of its southern and north western border. |

I have property in Canada that I love spending time at. It's my favorite spot in the world. I can't fucking go there, but of course I still have to pay property taxes.
 I know the Canadian economy relies heavily on tourism (especially in some areas (like where I am)), but I can only take so much. I'll wait a bit longer to see what happens, but this shit is getting old quickly. |

Yes, but the testing tweets are in reference to people entering the country. Context is important. If Trump had tweeted “anyone entering the country from China and Mexico must get tested for Covid. Those who test negative can self quarantine. Those that test positive will be required to quarantine in a government facility” most people on here would cheer and praise him.  Chris Sky challenges Canada's new travel restrictions And: Some travellers arriving at Toronto’s Pearson airport are walking out instead of footing the bill for mandatory quarantine hotel stays, just days after the federal government issued new protocols to curb the spread of variants in the country. Akhil Mooken, a spokesperson for Peel Regional Police, confirmed that officers are not stopping people who refuse to follow the measures that came into effect Monday. “Unless there are some serious or aggravating circumstances where the public safety is at risk, we are not … detaining individuals who are not complying with the regulations under the Quarantine Act,” Mooken said. Peel police officers are working with the Public Health Agency of Canada to monitor arrivals at Pearson in Mississauga, Ont., with the police holding the power to charge travellers at the airport. While travellers might be able to dodge mandatory quarantine in a hotel — which can cost up to $2,000 for the required three-day stay — that doesn’t mean Public Health won’t follow up and retroactively fine them, Mooken said. The fine could be up to $1,800 per person, per day. A spokesperson for Public Health confirmed that, under the act, a person who disobeys the mandatory quarantine could face a maximum penalty of $750,000 and/or six months imprisonment.
