I used to be a union carpenter and have probably cut miles of drywall.
There isn't an easier or faster way that score and snap.

Pretty sure that's how the large drywall shops are prefabing corners these days. 45 degree cut+ glue. They come out damn strong.

I might give that a try. My biggest problem is just keeping the knife perfectly straight and following the line.

Get a straight edge/drywall square.  Focus on where the blade is going not the point where it contacts the line (follow through).

You should be putting your cut edges into corners whenever possible, except of course around doors and windows. Since no framing is ever completely square, you shouldn't be cutting for a tight fit anyways.

Yep, linked earlier, but that saw is primarily designed for cutting into mounted sheets.  Hence, the blade depth and dust collection.

Not inexpensive, but it absolutely rocks for that purpose.  I haven't found anything better, which started me down the path of the Makita LXT line, since I had the batteries.  Bonus: built-in anti theft detection!

To understand the drywaller, you must know what a foot is to them.

A foot is 11 inches of drywall and one inch of mud.

I used a rotozip to route an outlet hole exactly one time.  Holy fuck that is messy.  Cleaner and easier to use a hand jab saw.

Measure

Snap a line

Score the line

Snap the board

Cut paper and voila, you are done.

Reciprocating toothed blade.  A Sawzall or even a regular jig saw would do better than a circular table saw.  A circular skill saw would also be better than a table saw, but it would make almost as big of a mess and screw up the work pieces and probably the blade.

A utility knife doesn't have teeth.  Even this would be better than a utility knife:

Ding ding. I use a huge T-square, easy stuff.

So to answer your question, no - don't use a table saw. Use a chainsaw

ETA: looks like I'm the second one to reccomend chainsaw. This is because it's far superior to all other methods.
