This is why they're still winning.

They're not stupid, and they're not interested in protecting the coast.   The more man-made emergencies, the better - the cloud people aren't going to suffer for this, just the peasants - as intended.

Yep, they are expensive and people won't pay the cost per gallon.

We do need them, since in many areas we are kicking the can down the road as far as available resources that are being degraded (groundwater especially).  But the next generation will have to deal with it.
