I don't know the details.
A couple that I know, not really friends. Parents I know from when my kids were in elementary school. Apparently, the husband has been banging hookers. Center for Disease Control (CDC) folks show up at his house. I guess to inform him to get treated and try not to spread it. Maybe they tried other forms of contact first? Big surprise for the wife. The are divorced now. CDC are like skip tracers. Contact tracing... Prolly got his contact info from a hookers phone or something. I did not know the CDC performed this service. I am a bit conflicted about them doing that, but I get it. |

Was it a case of the butt covid that was going around last year.

Tracing STDs is legitimate health work and has positive - no pun intended - effects for our society as a whole.

"All patients diagnosed with an STD are covered by patient confidentiality, and specially trained health department staff conduct contact tracing and partner notification while maintaining confidentiality" |

I just use the Mitch method: I don't get the regular AIDS test anymore. I get the roundabout AIDS test. I ask my friend Brian, "Do you know anybody who has AIDS?". He says, "No". I say, "Cool, because you know me."

Lol wtf. I can't imagine having such a bad std that the fucking govt shows up to talk about it

LPHA or sometimes the state will contact but it is rarely ever a home visit unless you've been ducking their calls.
CDC does not show up an anyone's house for STDs not even Monkeypox. |

I highly doubt it was the CDC, most likely the county health department.
Certain communicable diseases are automatically reported to the county health department epidemiology teams, who then try to figure out where you got it and who you might have passed it too. I got salmonella a couple years ago from a restaurant (only place I'd been for two weeks due to COVID), and I had a call from the health department within 24 hours of popping positive at the lab. Most miserable 96 hours of my life. Worse than COVID even. |

I think some miscommunication happened during the communication.

I have a friend that had an in person version of that. I was there when the kid showed up. Was the most awkward thing I have ever seen in my life. Buddy turned white as a ghost and thought he was going to pass out. His wife was in the other room and walked in asking what was going on. I was like yeah it is time for me to go...

Quoted: This. I work for my LHD. CDC does not do home visits for STDs lol. View Quote Aren't they all related though? Doesn't the CDC make mandates that trickle down to other health agencies and medical facilities? Like if the CDC didn't make it a directive, some counties would not track. I don't know how that works, but I agree it was probably not CDC guys that flew in from Atlanta. Whatever, some health offiial showed up oh their doorstep. I can see why the track this. It was surprising to me that they showed up in person to drop that bomb. He probably had been ducking them. I have never thought about this stuff. |

View Quote Yeah, the "so called monogamous relationship" as General Buck Turgidson would call it, makes those objectives a bit difficult to achieve simultaneously. |

There used to be a STD clinic and I carried their business cards in my pocket. If someone asked me for my card, I gave them one of those.
