I just use the Mitch method: I don't get the regular AIDS test anymore. I get the roundabout AIDS test. I ask my friend Brian, "Do you know anybody who has AIDS?". He says, "No". I say, "Cool, because you know me."

LPHA or sometimes the state will contact but it is rarely ever a home visit unless you've been ducking their calls.
CDC does not show up an anyone's house for STDs not even Monkeypox. |

I highly doubt it was the CDC, most likely the county health department.
Certain communicable diseases are automatically reported to the county health department epidemiology teams, who then try to figure out where you got it and who you might have passed it too. I got salmonella a couple years ago from a restaurant (only place I'd been for two weeks due to COVID), and I had a call from the health department within 24 hours of popping positive at the lab. Most miserable 96 hours of my life. Worse than COVID even.

It was surprising to me that they showed up in person to drop that bomb. He probably had been ducking them. I have never thought about this stuff. |
