While I was stationed overseas I purchased a bushmaster upper in 2014. Unfortunately due to the nature of military life it went into storage and I did not get the chance to try it out until 2018. When I did I was surprised to see that the front sight was staked on crooked. It was a mistake that could be noticed with just a visual check, it is clear they have absolutely no quality assurance.
I contacted bushmaster quality control. They had me mail it back to them. I took the time to provide my address and packaged it up and sent it. Tracking information showed that they received it. For weeks I called in to check on the status only to be told that it took 4 weeks for repairs to be completed. After 5 weeks I received a UPS email that a package was sent to California. I was confused as the address I live at, provided to bushmaster, and entered into their system was in Arizona. I contacted bushmaster and they told me that they redirected the shipment back to them. They told me that they would refund my purchase cost but they have not yet refunded anything. As things stand right now bushmaster has possession of an upper that I paid them for that the front sight is staked on crooked and they are disregarding my calls and emails. |

I didn't even know bushy was still in business. I thought it folded when everybody jumped ship during the whole Windham, Cerberus, Freedom Group thing that went on.
Live and learn I guess. |

Remington Bushmaster is garbage.
Old Maine Bushmaster stuff is good to go. If it says NY (or even AZ) - leave it in the store. |

My Bushmaster 20" A2 HBAR is flawless and is of excellent quality. I'm sorry yours is not correct.

i miss the days of ABC.
i don't even know what's good anymore. |

You bought a "Bushy" in name only, there are many guns out there that went down in quality after the industry mix up a few years ago and Bushmaster was one of them.

Just hearing the name makes me think of the 1990's.
I never owned one but shot many back then. They all seemed to work. Haven't seen one in a Long time. |

Windam Weaponry in Maine is the old Bushie team. I’m sure they make a mistake now & again, but i’ve never read about an epic screw up like you’re experiencing.
I have old Maine Bushie Hbars that are sub-MOA with my handloads & they run like a top. I, too, miss the ABC days..... |

I still have my M4gery from circa 2001-2002 and it’s never given me trouble. Can’t speak for other production years. I had to remove the Mini-Y comp though because it made my ears bleed.

My highest round count AR is a late 90s/early 2000s Bushmaster 16" carbine. It does and continues to run like a raped ape. Bushmaster made good shit in those days. Windham continues that tradition today. OTOH, you couldn't give me a Remington era Bushy. Anything that bunch touches turns to shit. They managed to ruin the wonderful Marlin lever guns too, the bastards.

I have three Bushys from the early-mid 90's and one from late 90's, all have never missed a beat. Other than some minor stuff like new gas rings, and a couple springs over the years, nothing major. Still run well to this day. I must have got good ones.
