I'm not a 'prepper' by definition, but have spent considerable time and expense building what I call 'the perfect battery' of weapons for my personal use. I believe it's the perfect collection but wanted to get feedback from the group. Looking back this year, I spent almost $50,000 getting this right, as I don't want to be left holding the bag. My goal is to be perfectly satisfied with what I have, start using them with range training, and if they start banning things not worry because I have everything I need. I spared no expense, and most items are 'classic' designs. A few modern things here and there. I realize it's heavy on the pistols but thats what I enjoy shooting mostly.

1970's Colt Series 70 .45 ACP, 6 magazines
1970's Colt Python 4" Blue
1990's Sig-Sauer P225 9mm (everyday carry piece), 5 magazines
1990's Sig-Sauer P226 9mm, 15 magazines
1990's Sig-Sauer P228 9mm, 8 magazines
2000's Sig-Sauer P229 .40/.357 Sig, 10 magazines (occasional concealed carry)
1990's Heckler & Koch P7M8 9mm, 4 magazines
1980's CZ-75 9mm, 4 magazines
New Glock 22 .40S&W, 10 magazines

Armalite H-Bar AR-15 5.56mm 20" barrel
Colt M4 16" barrel 5.56mm

Remington 870 Stainless Marine 12ga shotgun

Remington Nylon 66 .22LR
Ruger 10/22 .22LR

5000 rounds of 9mm
2500 rounds .40
1500 rounds .45
800 rounds of .38 Special/.357 Mag
5000 rounds of .22LR
5000 rounds of .223/5.56mm

While I have many more weapons, a minimalist selection would be:

Full size 9mm.

Micro size 9mm.

16” AR.

Every additional pistol or revolver is gaming.

That's a nice collection, but in the context of this subforum, you have too many pistol calibers.

And you need at least two shotguns.  Two is one, one is none.

Does anyone live with you?  Wife? Kids?  What will they use?  Are they trained on them?

And you definitely need more AR mags.  Lots more.

And a 30-cal battle rifle, like an M1A or 308 AR.  Every home should have one.

AR-10 ish on your choice. Benelli m4 and a good 22. All the rest is a waste. How many can you carry or use at one time.??

I assume you have a few sets of these as well because its what you'll be up against.

I had considered an AK variant, but went with the AR platform instead for rifles.

I'm true Arfcom fashion you really need both platforms. Aside from the ar platform, the ak/sks are very widely owned and praised,  there's literally tons and tons of x39 in this country. It's a viable and reliable platform.

Firearms always get all the attention but I wouldn't forget a good blade!  ESEE 6 in Zombie Green is awesome looking.
My goto's for the hoards are Glock 17 (9mm), POF P415 (5.56), Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag (12Ga), and Remington 700 Tactical (.308).  It's all about reliability and these 4 always go bang and eat whatever I'm feeding them.  Except for the 835, no slugs for her because of the overbored barrel but then again buck shot is my round of choice for the shotty.  I'd really like to bridge the gap with a high capacity kit for my 500 but everything is out of stock.

Both.

OP: I do agree that you should have a good .308 or similar.
