Fellow Air Force vet has gone off the deep end.

Not gonna go into details, but from what his wife is telling me he's not right in the head and is heading for trouble.

She's called the VA crisis line, but they were no help. Said they can't do anything unless HE calls for help.

She's worried sick about him and doesn't know what to do.

Any suggestions on what she can do to get him the help he needs?

If he is a danger to himself or others get him to the ER and he can be placed on a hold (at least in Texas) Also in Texas if you commit voluntarily it does not do anything to your gun rights. He may be well past the point of caring though. I found that to be useful in getting folks to come in that needed help and thought they might be getting worse.

He decided to go to the VA today and get help. Good for him.

This post is a few months old. Wonder how he's doing? The wife can file for involuntary Baker Act (court house) if he doesn't want to admit himself. The hell with the VA they care about no human life. There are plenty of local mental health facilities that will admit him. If she is worried about weapons (even though there are countless ways of hurting oneself) she can file for RPO Risk Protection Order, and the Sheriff will remove all firearms from the house. psychedelic pharma meds make matters worse. If he is one them that could be a huge part of the problem.
