No, not a lady friend, just someone very important to me is going to stop by this week. What would you cook?

I have: most cuts of beef available grown on my farm, some pork (a friend's farm), and farm fresh eggs. I can purchase just about everything else in town.

What would you make?

Steak hash, with eggs to the guests liking

chorizo, egg, cheese, hash brown casserole.  It is like cocaine.

You can build it the night before and put it in the oven whenever convenient.

So much depends on your friend

What are his preferences?

I'm a simple guy.  A good cut of beef, pan seared, with three farm fresh eggs sunny side up.  Happy camper

An omelet with good cheese and bacon would make almost anyone happy too

I agree with the steak and eggs approach b/c it's awesome AND its not tough to get done.  If you add too many things prep can be a pain.

If it were me I'd sous vide the steak so all I had to do was sear and serve when it's meal time but I know not everyone has that gear.

Bisquits and gravy, pan sausage, WELL DONE hash browns, OJ and coffee.

If this person were older or just not a fan of sweet things, I would go biscuits and gravy.  Good thick sliced bacon and over easy eggs.  Might even make home made biscuits if they're real special.

If they're on the younger side, or have more of a sweet tooth, I would go with Waffles (with the maple syrup I make personally).  Also with bacon and over easy eggs.

This

I'm generally content with simple, traditional breakfast foods: eggs, sausages, toast. Omelettes are good, too.

If you want to impress without being too fancy, do eggs Benedict. They're a big hit at my house. I also do a variation called 'haystack Benedict' which is eggs and breakfast meat (my family prefers regular bacon to the "Canadian Bacon" that's typically used) on a bed of hash browns - all drizzled with a generous portion of hollandaise.

Side note- hollandaise, runny yolks, and Cholula together make the world's best breakfast sauce IMO.

I know it's a bit late but I saw this posted in another thread and thought I'd give it a try for a brunch.  You may consider it for yourself if you have a eggs available.

I went traditional midwest.

Sausage patties, fried potatoes, toast and offered eggs cooked their way (neither guest opted for eggs). The sausage patties were made from a blend of 3 different sausages I had in the freezer, 1 breakfast sausage, 1 spicy sausage, and 1 mystery sausage (just labeled as sausage) and it was delicious!

Eggs Benedict, of course.
